'Ladybird books' by Me

Ladybird books, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

A couple of weeks ago I posted a fantastic photo of vintage Ladybird books. This inspired me to point my camera at my daughter's very own collection of rather more modern Ladybird titles. This was my favourite of the the pictures I took. I think because of the angle and also the bright colours. I do wonder whether someone will stumble across this photo in say 20 years time and think "Wow, I remember those book from my childhood!" and feel all nostalgic. As I mentioned before I'll definitely be keeping a few of these aside for my daughter to have back when she's all grown up.

'Fading Skies' by j.wilsonphoto

Fading Skies, originally uploaded by j.wilsonphoto.

I am posting this one tonight simply because it's gorgeous. I love a sunset like this, I just wish I had more opportunities to watch them. But this will do for now as it almost does make me feel like I am sitting there on the rocks at the end of a beautiful day.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. For me yesterday wasn't so exciting but I had a lovely day seeing family today and I am now enjoying a glass of red wine and a gingerbread man! A rather lovely way to spend a Sunday evening!

'beach hut' by Donnah Whittaker

beach hut, originally uploaded by Donnah Whittaker.

Yes I know, more beach huts..... but how could I resist this lovely photo. These pastel colours are just so pretty and don't they like just look so excellently cared for. The best bit of course is the old man sitting in front of one of them. He cycled there just to sit at his beach hut on what looks like a not that warm day. That's just so 'British' and I love it! I hope he was having a relaxing time.

And of course as it's Friday I'm going to wish you all a wonderful weekend! Hope it's filled with lots of fun things and hopefully a little bit of sunshine!

'Retro Vintage Girl in Grass With Purple Shoes' by Pink Sherbet Photography

It really, really, really, really was spring today! As I looked at the beautiful sunny day out of the window this morning I felt just so uplifted and well.... springy! However, not wanting to be tricked by the sunshine into think it was warm outside when I went out I put on my scarf and my winter coat. Five minutes down the road though I regretted that, I was baking so the coat and scarf came off and were stuffed under the pushchair! Hooray, it's still February and was out today without a coat. I am now choosing to ignore the rainy weather forecast for the next few days.

I think this photo is fantastic and perhaps a little spring like too. I love purple so I couldn't resist these pretty ribbon laces. And I love the other colours and tones in this photo too. That green grass look so lush and lovely. Now roll on spring for real!

'Colourful thread' by Me

Colourful thread, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

I think I'm such a wannabe when it comes to all things crafty. I used to make jewellery and have a huge stash of beads and jewellery making bits and bobs. But then I had a baby and tiny little beads didn't seem a sensible thing to have lying around the house. I also like to knit or at least I used to. Once again I have a huge stash of wool which I keep telling myself I'll use one day. I've always fancied learning crochet and tried to teach myself last year. Sadly I failed miserably. I also have an assortment of other crafting bit and pieces such as felt, thread and ribbons (yes, I even have a ribbon box) but what will become of these things? Well they do make fantastic subjects for photos. I wonder if this thread will become anything exciting one day!

'Bridge' by enfi

Bridge, originally uploaded by enfi.

I went to New York over a decade ago now and totally loved it. I'd wanted to go for ages and had built it up in my head to be a totally awesome place. I was therefore rather worried that it wouldn't live up to my expectations but luckily it did and it was such a fantastic place to visit. We only went for three nights which meant only two full days there. This was nowhere near enough time to explore all the things we wanted to although we did cram a lot into those two days. The hightlights for me include a trip up to the top of the World Trade Centre (I feel honoured), being in The Disney Store on 5th Avenue when it started to snow (it was so magical) and being unable to locate the Empire State Building (we were standing with a map looking lost when we decided to look upwards and ooops there it was!).

I could ramble on couldn't I about New York but I'd better show you a photo. Sadly I can't show you any I took as mine were all taken with film. I should scan them in one day. But I'm sure you won't be disappointed with this one I've chosen. Isn't this just an amazing angle to have taken a photo at? I also love how well the photographer has captured the evening light. Fantastic work!

'Taking it all in' by Me

Taking it all in, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

I've just been looking through the archives and there are actually loads of my own photos I'd like to post here but just haven't yet. I shall therefore try and post a few more of my own in the coming weeks. I always mean to but there are just so many fantastic photos out there that I feel you really need to see!

I took this one in Hove back in October. I really looks like it's posed doesn't it but I can honestly say it wasn't. My daugher really does not pose for photos - which can be annoying! Nope we just got to the beach that day and she just stood there taking it all in. See, even toddlers can be amazed by the beauty of the sea.

'111/1000 - Lily and Gerbera' by Mark Carline

111/1000 - Lily and Gerbera, originally uploaded by Mark Carline.

I wasn't actually planning on posting anything tonight but I just saw this photo and it was just so pretty and pink and lovely I just had to share it with you. As I said it is very pretty and pink but it's also a magnificent macro shot - so clean and crisp and I love that.

I'll therefore for keep this short and sweet, say I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and leave you to enjoy this photo.

'partners' by lookatthemoon2

partners, originally uploaded by lookatthemoon2.

This is the photo that made me smile the most today. I just think it's incredibly cute. It really does look like they are having a private moment with each other. I couldn't help notice all the little details too like the fact the brushes have been used and are a little worn. However, I didn't notice at first the colour in the photo. I thought it was all black and white when I first looked at it. Anyway, I hope you think this photo is cute too and you don't just think I'm the kind of person who believes the objects in my bathroom come alive at night.

'My Secret Stack Of Vintage Ladybird Books!' by Vintage Pleasure and Agnes Darling

What a fantastic nostalgic image. I love the colours. The chair, wall and bed go so well with the colours of the books. Ladybird Books will always have a special place in my heart. I had loads of them and I so regret not hanging on to them. They just got passed down to younger siblings and then when my parents moved house they eventually got given or thrown away. My two year old daughter already has a huge stack of Ladybird Books herself and she loves them. And I mean she seriously loves them. I am making a vow that when she grows up and wants to get rid of her old books I'm definitely going to squirrel a few of them away. I'll then present them to her when she all grown up and feeling nostalgic herself. It seems funny to think that one day she will look at these books which are all new and shiny now in the way I am looking at this pile here. I hope this photo makes you feel a nostalgic too.

'Beauty in purple' by Me

Beauty in purple, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

As promised here is my purple flower picture. I hope you like it. It was a lovely purple, pink and white bouquet. I love it when my husband comes home from work with some flowers for me. Not only is it a romantic gesture but we both know that the minute the sun comes out I'll be there with my camera snapping away at them!

'Heart and Surf' by Mark-Crossfield

Heart and Surf, originally uploaded by Mark-Crossfield.

Happy Valentine's Day to you all. I hope you all had or are having a wonderful day. I think this is a lovely photo to share with you today. If I'd found this heart shaped stone then I'd have wanted to photograph it too. In fact it's always a little bit exciting when you see something that's just randomly heart shaped. Or maybe it just me who gets excited at little things like that.

Anyway, this picture is so calm and peaceful and to be honest would still have been great even without the heart-shaped stone. The sea looks so frothy and soft and I love the way you can see all the grains of sand. I wonder where the pebble has ended up and whether it will get photographed again one day.

'maltesers' by 1001things

maltesers, originally uploaded by 1001things.

When it comes to chocolate I really can't resist a bag of Maltesers (or Minstrels or Mini Eggs but I'll save them for another post) so when I saw this photo I did start to feel a bit of a chocolate craving coming on. I love how this image focuses on one single Malteser. You can really see every bubble and crumb of the honeycomb centre. I always like to convince myself that there's only a really a thin layer of chocolate on a Malteser and the inside is full of air holes so they can't be that naughty! I am also very impressed with the willpower of this photographer. I'm not sure I'd have had time to take such a great picture before scoffing the lot! So, what treats do you find hard to resist?

untitled image by rosemary*

, originally uploaded by rosemary*.

My husband bought me a beautiful pink, purple and white bouquet last week and I really wanted to share with you a picture I took of a purple flower. But then I saw this and thought - Wow! It's stunning. I totally love that colour. It so rich and striking. And the detail of each petal is just amazing. It's a really great example of macro photography.

I may still show you my photo but I think I'll wait for now!

'Mellow yellow' by Andrew Areoff

Mellow yellow, originally uploaded by Andrew Areoff.

I love my mobile phone. It does all the phone and and internet type stuff I need it to do and it looks rather smart too. I've never really fancied an iPhone.... execept for the camera. The more I see pictures taken on one the more I want one. I love all the effects and ways of photo sharing. This is a fantastic example of why I love iPhone photography. The effect, how ever it's done, is really cool. And I love the angle and the colours. Now as I have no intention of actually getting an iPhone I am wondering whether there are any cool iPhone like cameras out there.

'Could it really be spring?' by Me

Could it really be spring?, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

Today spring arrived. It was a beautiful, sunny and not too chilly day. The skies were blue and I even bought myself a lovely bunch of tulips as to me they definitely say spring. I haven't yet looked at the weather forecast for the rest of the week just in case it's meant to rain! I am also loving the fact that evenings are definitely getting lighter. That's definitely a mood lifter.

Anyway, a sunny day means a photo day! Here is a picture I took of my first bunch of tulips of 2011. Aren't they lovely? I like this photo because I think I've managed to capture that gorgeous spring light. Fingers crossed for another spring day tomorrow.

'messy morning bed' by Little Lentil Lil

messy morning bed, originally uploaded by Little Lentil Lil.

You know what would be lovely? A day just snuggled up in bed with a stack of DVDs to watch, some magazines to flick through, a good book to get lost in and a big pile of delicious treats to nibble on! But of course that's never going to happen with a two year old around! And in reality I'd probably end up getting bored by midday. I'd probably decide to get up and do something useful. But of course it's a lovely thing to dream about.

I love this picture because it does make me want to stay in bed and do nothing useful. I think the light coming in through the window is just beautiful. I love how you can see the snow outside too. Makes you just want to dive back under the duvet where you can look at the pretty snow out the window but you don't have to actually get cold!

'Carts in awe of giant floating hotdog for only 50 cents!' by swardraws

Today we went to Ikea in Croydon. I'm actually one of those strange people who doesn't mind Ikea at the weekend. We even went on a Bank Holiday Monday once! Anyway, the law of Ikea does state that you have to have meatballs on the way in and a hotdog on the way out so that always makes for a nice afternoon out. I also have a thing about napkins at the moment and ended up leaving there with four packets of them! Whenever we go there I end up buying loads. It used to be candles but I think napkins are more useful now!

And of course never being one to miss a photo opportunity I even took a couple of photos of the famous chimneys outside. They were literally just snapshots though so not sure if they are bloggable but I may show you at some point. Instead I found this fun photo that was taken in an Ikea. I just love the boldness of it and that bright green is fantastic. It really does sum up the place.

I hope you all had great weekend!

'Wanna have lunch?' by Jaime973

This picture made me smile. I love it because it looks so relaxed and summery. The colours are just perfect and the texture of the wood is amazing. But most of of all it's making me hungry. I love going out for lunch at the weekend with friends or just with my husband and daughter. Since we became parents dinner dates don't happen as much as they used to so it's so nice to go out for a nice lunch somewhere. And the little one loves it too - probably because she knows that there's a good chance she'll get ice cream for pudding. She's even good at ordering it herself.

So happy weekend everyone. Hope you all have some lovely lunches!

'Boats on the beach' by Me

Boats on the beach, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

As promised, here is another photo from my trip to Herne Bay on a rather cold day. You can tell from this picture that it was very cloudy but I hope I have captured the essense of British beach in winter. As I was walking up to the beach I spotted these boats straight away and knew they'd make a great shot. The way they were lay on the ground made it look like they had been left there especially for me to photograph them. I think this picture works and I have captured them from the best angle. I'm now in the mood for some more beach photography, although a bit of sunshine would be nice next time.

'upward' by raspberrytart

upward, originally uploaded by raspberrytart.

I really enjoyed showing you such a bright and a colourful photo yesterday so I thought I'd show you another one today. This looks like it was such a beautiful day. I love the contrast of the colours against the bright blue sky - especially the yellow.

I've never actually been up in a balloon before. I used to think it would be so peaceful and beautiful and something I'd love to do. Well that was until I almost got the chance to actually do it and my brain started overthinking how the whole think worked exactly and I decided it was a mental thing to do. I mean just floating around in the air without an engine - what happens if something bursts your balloon?

Anyway, that's enough of me waffling on about balloon safety. Hope you like the picture!

'Delicious' by matthew_lowery

Delicious, originally uploaded by matthew_lowery.

I had to show you this photo because of it's fantastic use of colour. The colours are just so vibrant and refreshing. In fact it really makes me want to dive right into that grapefruit right now even though it's not a fruit I actually like! My favourite bit though has to be the sparkle on the spoon - what a cute added touch. Now my next job is to try and make my breakfast look this delicious!!
