I think I'm such a wannabe when it comes to all things crafty. I used to make jewellery and have a huge stash of beads and jewellery making bits and bobs. But then I had a baby and tiny little beads didn't seem a sensible thing to have lying around the house. I also like to knit or at least I used to. Once again I have a huge stash of wool which I keep telling myself I'll use one day. I've always fancied learning crochet and tried to teach myself last year. Sadly I failed miserably. I also have an assortment of other crafting bit and pieces such as felt, thread and ribbons (yes, I even have a ribbon box) but what will become of these things? Well they do make fantastic subjects for photos. I wonder if this thread will become anything exciting one day!

I love doing arts and crafts with my little girl. She has a craft box which is full of paints, paper, crayons, glue, stickers, sparkly stuff etc and often I'll just put a big mat down on the floor, get the box down and let her help herself. And of course she never lets me sit back and watch I have to get stuck in as well. It's very theraputic you know. I rather like an afternoon of cutting, sticking, painting and drawing. This is a photo I took on our last craft afternoon. I love how she looks really engrossed in what she's doing.

A pretty photo tonight for all lovers of things crafty and pink! It's a simple shot but very well composed and the colours and tones are great. The only trouble is if it was mine I wouldn't want to actually take out any of the pins and use them as it would spoil the pattern!

As promised here is one of the photos I took whilst having a little photography session with my craft stuff. This is a really pretty piece of blue ribbon but I think it also looks rather like an exotic blue rose. Hope you like it too.

I took this today. It's just a pile of tissue paper. I saw it sitting there, thought it looked pretty and took a photo. I rather like the result.

This is what I love about photography. I love that it can be so spontaneous. You see something that looks gorgeous and in one click it's captured forever. It makes you realise that the world really is a beautiful place.

It's late and as I've not had much time for blogging this evening I thought I'd quickly post a picture which is pretty! This one is indeed very pretty! I love all the pink - so girly!! And I love the cotton reels - if you haven't seen it already you can read my previous post for my thoughts on cotton reels and crafty bits.

Oh and in case you were wondering I did find some time to take some crafty photos of my own which I will share with you in due course. In the mean time please enjoy this lovely photo instead.

I love that every day objects can be so beautiful and become the subject of stunning photographs.

Cotton reels for example. I love them, especially vintage ones. They remind me of my childhood as my grandmother had loads of these vintage cotton reels. I so wish I had kept them now. She also had, among other treasures, a tin of buttons and a bag of zips! Simple stuff really but lovely. I want to be like that too! I already have a ribbon box and a tin of buttons but somehow they just don't seem as beautiful. Hmmm, that gives me an idea though. I really need to spend some time letting my camera get to know my crafty bits and bobs! I'll let you know how I get on.

Anyway, the photo I have chosen today is one I wish I could have taken myself. Fantastic collection of vintage cotton reels in such beautiful colours that match the pretty tin. The photo is really well cropped and it makes me think that the photographer has loads more pretty things like that in the cupboard.
