'summer chair' by Grant MacDonald

summer chair, originally uploaded by Grant MacDonald.

Tomorrow is the 1st March! I believe the offical first day of spring is 20th March but to me spring starts when March does (and a quick Google shows that the Met Office agrees with me!). Therefore tomorrow I expect to wake up to gorgeous sunshine, not having to wear a thick jumper and lots of spring blossoms! Fingers crossed eh!

I have chosen this photo today as it just makes me look forward to summer. It's not a photo of anything spectacular but it is so summery! The light and the warmth have been captured beautifully. I just want to be sat in that chair watching the world go by and feeling the warm sun on my face.

'Oh, I love you so' by Creature Comforts

Oh, I love you so, originally uploaded by Creature Comforts.

This photo makes me smile. The colours of this house are so wonderful and happy. Even if you were coming home after a terrible day this house would cheer you up a little. I love the snow in this photo too. It's obviously a very wintery day but the pretty house still makes it feel like spring!

'Paris Metro' by Me

Paris Metro, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

Due to lack of opportunities for nice photo sessions at the moment I have been digging around in my files and playing around with some old shots. I found a load of interesting photos I took in Paris a few years ago. Here is one of the Metro that has already had lots of positive feedback on Flickr since putting it up this afternoon. I hope you like it too.

'i'm fond of you' by smallroots

i'm fond of you, originally uploaded by smallroots.

Can post that lovely tulip photo I was telling you about now? I have not been feeling well and I need cheering up. Oh, yeah, it's my blog. I can do what I like so here's a photo which I adore!

As you may have gathered I am going through a bit of a tulip phase at the moment and this is just perfect. I love the close crop. It makes it so different from the typical tulips in a vase shot. And the soft colours are just divine!

Yep, I think I feel a little cheered up now!

'Peacock' by siestakeysunset

Peacock, originally uploaded by siestakeysunset.

This photo has totally inspired me. This summer I want to find a peacock and take a photo as stunning as this! However, I hope my zoom is working well enough as I don't really fancy getting too up close and personal with one! I love peacocks as they are just so colourful and total show-offs. They look good and they know it!

'Tea and coffee' by Me

Tea and coffee, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

This is one of my photos. I took it in Southsea last summer. I initially didn't put it on Flickr because I didn't really think much of it. However, after stumbling across it some months later and having a play with the colours on Photoshop I have become really pleased with it. I already liked the composition of this shot but now I really love the vintage look.

I'm not taking nearly enough photos at the moment so can't wait until the sun is shining so I can take lots of pretty shots in interesting places.

'sweets' by alice b. gardens

sweets, originally uploaded by alice b. gardens.

Go on, be naughty, it is the weekend after all. I think I am just looking for a partner in sweet stuff crime as I've just realised I have scoffed a whole bag of cola bottle sweets. Ooops! I'd been eating marshmallows before that. It's all my husband's fault for leaving them on the table next to me. He knows I have no will power! Oh well, didn't I hear something about there being no calories at the weekend.

I love this picture because it's yummy cakes in pretty pink cases! And I also love the fact that it's been taken, or looks like it's been taken, through a shop window. It makes the cakes seem even more exciting. I never realised you could capture temptation in a photo but it's been done here.

'Reaching For Gold' by pendeho

Reaching For Gold, originally uploaded by pendeho.

Have you ever wondered what you'll find at the end of the rainbow? Well turns out it's not a pot of gold but a really cool looking tree. This photo is great because the sky is so dramatic and I love the light. I think even without the rainbow it would still have been a really interesting photo. But the rainbow really adds a splash of colour and happiness.

'Winter popsicle' by BrennanSchnell

I've just seen a fantastic tulip photo on flickr which I really want to share with you but I think I'll leave it for a bit just in case you think I am getting a bit obsessed with with this particular type of flower!

I've therefore picked a completely different photo for you to have a look at. I love this because it makes me thirsty. It looks so juicy. It's been a cold rainy day today but I really, really want an ice lolly! I have some ice cream in the freezer but I'm not sure that'll be the same. I therefore conclude that there is definitely nothing wrong with a winter popsicle.

'tulips framed' by penwren

tulips framed, originally uploaded by penwren.

You may remember in a previous blog post that I was talking about how tulips used to be red. Read it here if you haven't seen it already and want to know what on earth I am going on about! Well anyway, today I came across this gorgeous photo which totally describes what tulips looked like to me when I was a child! Big, bright, bold and red! This is what comes into my head when I think of tulips.

I like this photo because of the great flowers but also because of the frame the door makes. It's like taking an illicit peek through the window and catching a glimpse of someone's gorgeous home. And a simple thing but I just love the table cloth!

'Paris...je t'aime' by ☂CharlotteSpeaks

Paris...je t'aime, originally uploaded by ☂CharlotteSpeaks.

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's weekend. I thought I would carry on the theme of romance with this gorgeous photo of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

I love the angle it was taken at and the tones used give this picture a really interesting feel. The tower looks so big and proud but at the same time soft and subtle. You can imagine two lovers at the top feeling like they are the only people in the whole of Paris.

You see I've gone and written my own story for a simple photo again. I guess a photo that can make you think like that has to be a fantastic one!

'Heart of the flower' by Me

Heart of the flower, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you have a lovely day spreading the love tomorrow. And remember it's not just for slushy romance. Let everyone you love know how special they are to you - your partner, your family and your friends.

I picked this photo of mine to share with you today as I think the centre of this flower looks like a heart. What do you reckon? And of course the passionate red colour is perfect for Valentine's Day.

Lots of love from me!

'little red car party!' by hello naomi

little red car party!, originally uploaded by hello naomi.

This is just adorable. The two colours just work so well together. I've not been to a children's party as gorgeous as this before. I hope the kids stopped to appreciate the beauty although I expect they just saw cake and jumped straight in!

'Blue ribbon' by Me

Blue ribbon, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

As promised here is one of the photos I took whilst having a little photography session with my craft stuff. This is a really pretty piece of blue ribbon but I think it also looks rather like an exotic blue rose. Hope you like it too.

'MMMMMmmmmm Doughnuts' by Gordon Mould (gpics07)

I am featuring this photo simply because these doughnuts look delicious! I suspect they may even be Krispy Kreme which makes them even more special. I really like how the focus is on the middle doughnut. Almost makes you feel you are concentrating on that chosen one. The one that will be yours! I can't help but wonder how many of these the phtographer scoffed after this photo was taken.

Nothing else to say on this fabulous photo other than. Mmmm, doughnuts (dribbling in a very Homer Simpson like way.)

'Merry Christmas' by loose_grip_99

Merry Christmas, originally uploaded by loose_grip_99.

I think I may be a bit of a secret train spotter as this the second steam train photo I have posted in a month. I just love them though. I love the romance that they conjure up. I love the billowing smoke. And I would love to make a dramatic Orient Express style train journey through Europe. I think I'd have to buy some beautiful luggage though. You'd need that to do it properly. And I'd wear a pretty evening dress for dinner.

This photo is great because it captures that steam train magic. It works so well in black and white. The photographer has also captured the winter feeling really well. It definitely feels like the train might be taking people home for Christmas.

There is another stream train photo I have my eye on so you never know, I may post that one here too some time soon!

'the comfy mattress' by famapa

the comfy mattress, originally uploaded by famapa.

I got to have a lie-in this morning! I don't get to have one of these very often (not since becoming a mummy!) so it was heaven!

Anyway, that was the inspiration for today's photo. I thought today should be about beds. This is a very simple photo but it's simplicity doesn't make it any less beautiful. This looks like the most comfortable matress in the world! In fact I want to dive on it right now. The owner of this bed is a very lucky and cozy person!

'Another Tulip Shot' by Andrea McClain

Another Tulip Shot, originally uploaded by Andrea McClain.

OK so this is going to sound a bit mad but didn't tulips used to be red? For some reason when I was a little girl I only remember seeing red tulips (and yellow ones occasionally). These days tulips are all colours of the rainbow. And all the better for it! Now I have to decide whether I led a very sheltered childhood when it came to flower colours or whether I have a selective floral memory or whether tulips really were just red back in the day.

It was really hard picking a tulip photo to go with my random musings on the flower. I went for this one though because it's a little bit different from all the rest. Mostly flowers are photographed in vases or really close up or sometime just a bunch lying on a table. But this is the only bunch of tulips I saw in a box. It works well though! And I love the colour combination. The bright pink and bright green are very striking together. Tulips are great whatever colour they are!

'Tissue paper' by Me

Tissue paper, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

I took this today. It's just a pile of tissue paper. I saw it sitting there, thought it looked pretty and took a photo. I rather like the result.

This is what I love about photography. I love that it can be so spontaneous. You see something that looks gorgeous and in one click it's captured forever. It makes you realise that the world really is a beautiful place.

'I heart you!' by just.jane.

I heart you!, originally uploaded by just.jane..

It's late and as I've not had much time for blogging this evening I thought I'd quickly post a picture which is pretty! This one is indeed very pretty! I love all the pink - so girly!! And I love the cotton reels - if you haven't seen it already you can read my previous post for my thoughts on cotton reels and crafty bits.

Oh and in case you were wondering I did find some time to take some crafty photos of my own which I will share with you in due course. In the mean time please enjoy this lovely photo instead.

'wind, sun, blue' by SurprisePally

wind, sun, blue, originally uploaded by SurprisePally.

It was much warmer today than it has been. I wouldn't go so far as to say spring-like just yet but it was definitely milder. It gave me just a glimmer of hope that winter is soon to be gone.

This photo is just beautiful. It makes me want it to be summer now and I want to be at the beach. You can't even see the beach in this photo but you know it's there and just perfect. What I love most about this is the dress blowing in the wind. It looks like a really hot day but with a light breeze so you are not sweltering in the heat.

All the shades of blue are gorgeous too and it really doesn't need any other colours. A wonderful summer image.

'Polka Dot Cupcake Liners' by Bakerella

Polka Dot Cupcake Liners, originally uploaded by Bakerella.

I am very annoyed. It turns out I am really am no domestic goddess. I was only baking fairy cakes this evening but got sidetracked and left them in the oven to get burnt. I am very cross with myself but it has inspired me to do a cakey post tonight. This is such a pretty photo. I need to get some cake cases that look like this. Even my cakes would look beautiful then wouldn't they?
