'Deep Red Gerbera Daisy II' by laughlinc

Deep Red Gerbera Daisy II, originally uploaded by laughlinc.

This is the photo that jumped out today saying "Pick Me, Pick Me!!!!" and so I did. I love this deep red colour and I think close up shots of flowers can be so interesting. I really love how defined each petal is too. This is fantastic work which I think would actually look great blown up huge and displayed on a plain white wall.

  7. Hi Joseph, sadly I didn't take this photo. It was by a photographer on flickr called laughlinc.

  8. Hi everyone! Thanks so much for the kind comments on my pic. I'm glad you all enjoyed it. Joseph, I used the Nikkor 50mm 1.8 lens. I had read so many good things about it on Flickr and it's only about $100 so I went for it and haven't been disappointed. Since it's a prime lens, it took a little getting used to but I think I've gotten the hang of it.

  10. Hi laughlinc,

Thank you for answering my question. It is a stunning picture :-)
I have purchased a similar lens a couple of weeks ago: Nikon 50mm F1.4 G. Also a great lens.

You can check my flickr or my blog to see the quality of the 1.4 G lens :-)

    Greetz,

    Joseph
