Well I had a rather lovely day today. I enjoyed watching the wedding on the telly, I had great fun with family and I loved stuffing my face with scones, cakes and fizzy wine!!
I thought I'd therefore keep the party going for a little longer and post this photo which was taken just this morning. I think it's really cool. It's really interesting seeing the streets of London empty like this. The composition of this is just great and I love that it's taken from right in the middle of the road.
Wishing William and Kate a very happy marriage and hope they had a fabulous day. I wonder if they are all tipsy on expensive champagne yet and strutting their stuff on the dancefloor to some cheesy wedding tunes!!

'Afternoon tea' by sweet berry me
Well, unless you've been living under a rock this week you'll be aware that a certain royal wedding is taking place tomorrow. As much as I thought I didn't really care much about it I've realised I'm quite looking forward to watching it on the television. I think because it's great to experience things that you know will be a huge part of history if that makes any sense. Also we're having family round and I've decided to make it a bit of a British tea party type affair - you know the thing, sandwiches, scones, cakes and cups of tea!
Anyway, when I saw this photo it just summed up what lots of people will be doing tomorrow as they watch William and Kate get married. It's such a cute photo and I reckon I could scoff pretty much most of those scones if I tried. It's a really well composed image too - the food is neat and tidy and the plate stand and the frame behind go together really well.
So to all of you who are just about to have another extra long bank holiday weekend - hope you have lots of fun!

'The Coco Walk' by jeridaking
After writing yesterday's post I realised I'd given myself the kick up the bum I needed to try and achieve some goals. I am therefore very excited to have finally set the wheels in the motion for selling some of my work. It's going to take a while to set up I think but I'll let you know more about it soon.
But that's enough about me. Here's a fabulous photo by someone else. This one really makes me think of exotic holidays. I think it's amazing that the photographer managed to capture the pool looking so calm and still. Usually there's someone or indeed something in there disturbing the water but this looks just perfect.I also really love the light, it definitely captures that silence that you get first thing in the morning. I want to go on holiday now!!

'More postcards!' by Me
I got some more of my photos made up into postcards and once again the first thing I did was photograph them! I will take the plunge and try and sell some of them one day, I really will. If I learned anything when I hurt my head on holiday in Spain it's that life can be so unexpected and things can change in an instant. I am fine now - just left with a few emotional scars that will heal and a tufty patch of hair which will grow - but I am so thankful that it wasn't a worse injury. Basically what I am saying is, life is short, make sure you do everything you really want to. And the thing I really want to do is be a proper photographer! Gosh, I've said it now haven't I......

'Hanging Laundry 01 (Ardennes)' by niekbokkers
I hope you've all had a wonderful Easter weekend. I did even though I am now fit to burst with chocolate and barbecue food - but it was very much worth it! We've been so lucky with the weather too, it's seriously felt like a long week in summer.
I love this photo because of the beautiful light. It looks like the sun was setting on after a lovely sunny day. I've realised I'm becoming a bit of fan of washing line photos. It's brilliant how something so totally mundane can become a fabulous work of art.

'London building tops' by trexcali
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday, I know I certainly did. We had a barbecue and Easter Egg hunt with good friends. I also went all competitive and proud mummy when my daughter managed to single handedly collect the most eggs!! She's got a great future ahead of her that girl!
This photo has absolutely nothing to do with Easter - I just saw it and thought it was rather amazing. I am always trying to spot things out of aeroplane windows and this would be one view that would be easily recognisable. For those of you who don't recognise it, this is Canary Wharf and some of the other buildings in the Docklands area of London. Fantastic capture!

'Happy St George's day' by evilnick
It's St George's Day today. For any of you that might not know St George is the patron saint of England. When I saw this photo today I though it was really cool and knew I had to share it with you. It is such a simple but clever idea and it really does signify a big part of English culture and food. And not to mention the fact that every time I look at this it makes me feel rather peckish. So Happy St George's Day - now go get some chips!!

'My girl likes to play in the sunshine' by Me
This long weekend is already messing with my head. All day I've been thinking it's Saturday. In fact even as I sit here typing this my head is still telling me it's Saturday. Oh well, it's really Saturday tomorrow and having two Saturday's in one week can be no bad thing!
I took this photo of my little girl today at a National Trust garden called Wakehurst. It was obviously busy there and the car park was almost full but because it's such a huge place it didn't seem packed like many other places on a Bank Holiday. It meant I got lots of nice shots around the house and garden without lots of random people in them which I think is rather an achievement.
Hope your weekend has started well!

'Happy Easter!' by Polkadotandplaid
Well Easter is here at last. Doesn't it just feel like it's really late this year? I kept having to check my calendar to make sure I hadn't missed it! The weather forecasters are saying that the sunshine is planning on sticking around for the extra long weekend too. I think a barbecue might just be in order. Better get up early tomorrow and head to the supermarket for burgers and buns before they all sell out as I'm sure there will be lots of other people with the same idea!
Obviously I was going to celebrate this holiday with a seasonal photo and what better than these really pretty eggs. It's a lovely photo and I just love the pastel colours.
So, Happy Easter all you fabulous people. Hope you all have fabulous weekend!

'Blue skies' by Me
Once again we had a beautiful weather here today. In fact the it got so hot at one point that I started thinking it was too hot.... but I stopped myself halfway through that thought - don't want to start wishing the nice weather away!
Here is a picture I took on Brighton Pier back in March. I love the bright colours and the blue skies. Fingers crossed I'll be taking more photos like this over the next few months!

'Flowers in the grass {Explored}' by E v i e J a y e
A nice sunny photo for you today as it looks like the lovely weather is planning on sticking around here for a little while. This is great because it means I can actually wear some of the new summer clothes I bought recently. I kind of decided that this would be the summer of skirts and dresses but we'll just have to see what happens there as I very rarely wear skirts and dresses. Even though I'd love to I think I'd feel like I was a bit overdressed for chasing after a toddler.
Although the colours here and so warm and fabulous it's not strictly a warm picture, just check out the dew on the grass. It is just so beautifully captured though don't you think? It looks like such a gorgeous day that I wouldn't even mind that it was a bit chilly. And note I'm saying 'a bit chilly' and not 'cold' - I am totally done with being cold now and totally ready for summer!

'Balletic' by Mizzzzzz S
Today we took our little girl swimming as it had been far too long since we’d last been. She was actually a bit nervous at first but then she reverted back to being our beautiful waterbaby. I can’t believe how confident she is in the water. In fact she's far more confident than me as I’m not really great with water at all. I love going swimming but I'm really not a fan of going out of my depth or going under water.
Therefore tonight’s photo is a photo I am sure never to recreate myself. This just looks so graceful - if it were me I'd be kicking around like crazy trying to get back to the top. The little line of bubbles is a great capture but what is even better is the reflection on the surface of the water. Fantastic underwater photo.

'Painted Ladies, Alamo Square, San Francisco' by M. Shaw
There are so many fabulous images of San Francisco out there and they really make me want to go there with the sole purpose of taking photos. One place I would love to take pictures is here. I don't know anything about it to be honest but it seems to be a much photographed site. I can see why because, wow, what a view! I really like this particular photo as it is just so crisp and sharp. The buildings in the background are just as important to the shot as the houses in the foreground. And I love how it's an evening/night shot but the light is still just perfect.
Happy weekend everyone!!

'Blossom' by Me
Earlier this week I said I couldn't decide whether to show you a blossom picture or a beach one well here is the blossom one. This was taken in my garden where we are so lucky we have lots of trees and bushes which blossom in the spring. The sad thing though is that it's all over so quickly. The flowers in this picture are now long gone which is a shame as they are so pretty. The best looking tree at the moment is our cherry tree which is in full blossom. I reckon I should get out there very quickly if I want a photo though as I'm bound to wake up one morning and it'll all be gone.

'petes_9615a' by luv-blu-ridge
Well the beautiful, hot and sunny weather has finally departed and we are back to how April usually is - ie, chilly. Just waiting for the April showers to turn up now. I am actually shivering a little as a sit here typing this and am thinking about turning the heating up a little. That's why I needed a warm sunny photo and quick! I love this one. It's quite a simple view really but I love the lines of the trees and the bikes against them. What I love most though, unsurprisingly, is the light. It's gorgeous and really shows what a lovely day it was when this was taken. I wouldn't mind strolling down that street myself right now.

'Chains' by Me
I wanted to share one of my own photos with you today but was having trouble choosing between a blossom one or a beach one. So I decided on neither and went for this one. We were sitting on the beach when I spotted a lots of boats stacked up. Camera in hand I went off for a look. The bottom of this boat really caught my eye and just asked to be photographed. I love all the different textures. Especially the peeling paint as this boat appears to have been a number of different colours in it's lifetime.
Don't worry blossom and beach lovers - those photos will no doubt follow shortly!

'The summer wind came blowing in...' by michaelab311
Well, what a simply perfect weekend. The weather has remained beautiful so we did have that trip to the beach and also the first barbecue of the year. My husband and I even managed to squeeze in a dinner date. At a lovely restaurant. Just us two. How totally fantastic!
This photo is just so summery and it whisks you away to a place far far away. The bright white material against the blue sky just looks so pure. I think I can actually feel that summer breeze on me right now and I must say it is rather relaxing.

'Candy in the sky' by halflatte
Happy weekend everyone. Hope you have lots of lovely things planned for the next two days. The beautiful weather is still here and I'm hoping it can manage to stick around a while longer. I think a trip to the beach or maybe a barbecue might be in order.
I wanted to show you a photo tonight that was colourful and summery. I like this one because it is indeed colourful and summery. I also love how it manages to have subtle vintage tones whilst at the same time being having bright and striking colours.

'Clothes peg' by Matt Gypps
Today was such a beautiful day. Seriously, it could have been July out there and not the beginning of April. I hope this nice weather sticks around at least for a little while as it has been such a mood lifter. The hot and sunny weather also meant I could hang my washing on the washing line and it would actually get dry!
That leads me on to this rather lovely photo. It is such a simple idea but just so well done. In fact I am not entirely sure what it is about this picture that I love. Probably just how bright and crisp it is. I've tried the pegs on the washing line shot before but it's never turned out anywhere near as amazing as this. Who'd have though pegs could be so beautiful?

'Barcelona' by Me
This is another photo from my trip to Barcelona. This is a scene that just shouted at me to take a photo. I love all the repetition of the arches. I've seen photos of these kind of repetitive shapes before and always thought they were great. My favourite bit of this is probably the random table and chairs. I am not sure why there was just one table. Perhaps the owner doesn't usually get much business! Anyway, it meant a fantastic photo opportunity for me. Hope you like it too!

'Sunrise on Bagan - Myanmar' by David Michel
Yesterday's picture was striking because of it's close up detail and it's bold colour. This one however is striking for the opposite reasons. The landscape is vast and fascinating and the lack of bright colour makes this picture so mysterious. I love all the layers of shadows and out lines of buildings. It's almost like a photographic decoupage of sorts. Fabulous!
And in other news... I had my stitches out today, had a lovely long shower (as I can now get the top of my head wet) and I really do feel so much better. It's been a tough week but I finally feel like I've reached that light at the end of the tunnel. YAY!

'_MG_5616' by binsin
I don't know where to start when writing about this photo. I just think it's amazing. It's really so simple when you think about it but it still manages to be very striking. The colour is just so vibrant and the detail is so well captured. I wonder what the inspiration for this shot was or whether it was just a quick snap whilst lying in the grass one day.
And Happy Monday! Hope your week has started well!

'Peacock' by Me
Well our holiday in Spain may not have gone completely as planned but before the accident my husband, little girl and I were having a rather awesome time. I've now sorted through the photos I took and found a few I want to share with you.
The first one has to be this one of a peacock that I took at Barcelona Zoo. I have been trying to get a shot like this for so long but whenever we go somewhere there are peacocks they never have their feathers open. This one, however, was in full show-off mode and was totally happy to pose for some photos.

'Cadbury mini eggs' by Guðmunda
Well in an update to yesterday's post, I went to the doctor today and he thinks I should be just fine. I am still incredibly upset and shaken up though so I won't make this a long post or I may start boring you with my tales of woe. Instead I'll show you this fantastic photo of Mini Eggs. I have rather lost my appetite at the moment except for chocolate and could quite happily devour a whole bag of these right now. But Mini Eggs was last night. Tonight is Mint Aero.
Have a great weekend everyone and I shall try to make sure that happy blogging will resume shortly!
