I don't really have much to say tonight except to say that tomorrow is the first day of June which means summer is here properly now! Come on nice weather, please don't let us down. I think this is a lovely summer photo and the title of it is very fitting too. My favourite thing about this picture is the colour. I love the contrast of the bright pink and the blue of the water. In fact the water colour is just so beautiful. Perfect photo to start the summer with.
This is such a simple photo but I was really drawn to it. I like it because it looks nostalgic. Not nostalgic to me as I have no memories of being by the water like this, but someone else's nostalgia. You could say voyeuristic nostalgia. Anyway, I think it has that feel to it because of the colours. It looks like kids are going to turn up and jump into the water at any minute or a couple are going to come and dangle their legs in as they share romantic thoughts together. It also looks a bit mysterious, like there is already something in that water that we might not want to know about. I am going to stop waffling now as you probably don't get what I am going on about. Hope you like this fabulous photo as much as I do though.
Today we took our little girl swimming as it had been far too long since we’d last been. She was actually a bit nervous at first but then she reverted back to being our beautiful waterbaby. I can’t believe how confident she is in the water. In fact she's far more confident than me as I’m not really great with water at all. I love going swimming but I'm really not a fan of going out of my depth or going under water.
Therefore tonight’s photo is a photo I am sure never to recreate myself. This just looks so graceful - if it were me I'd be kicking around like crazy trying to get back to the top. The little line of bubbles is a great capture but what is even better is the reflection on the surface of the water. Fantastic underwater photo.
Whilst looking for photos to post I kept going back to this one so I thought I'd share with you tonight and see what you thought of it. I think it is so intriguing. It really feels like there should be some story behind it. If so what is that story? And if not what inspired the photographer to set up a shot like this? Also as I have mentioned before I love little cocktail umbrellas so it's really interesting to see one used in such a different way. So, do tell. What do you think?
Thought I'd start the year with an image that was very tranquil and serene. This one really is just that. The water is just so still and the reflection is just so clear. And as I do with all photos like this I turned it upside down to see just how perfect a reflection it was. The blues are great too. The sky really matches the boat house. This is definitely one which could be framed to go on the wall of someone's house.
Alright then, so I won't talk about how lovely the weather is any more. Today wasn't summery, or springy, in fact it was perhaps rather wintery outside. But I believe the weather forecast when it says the next few days will be lovely!
So to change the subject completely...... Isn't this the most refreshing photo you have seen in a long time? I love the colour of the lime and the fact the water is just so clear! And I think the way the water splashing out of the glass has been captured is just fantastic. I really want to take some splashing water photos myself but just can't imagine they would turn out as good as this.
I get so engrossed in looking for fantastic photos from other people I keep forgetting that this blog is meant to be about my photos as well. Anyway, here is one of mine which I like because it looks far more impressive than it really is. It's just a red coloured wine glass filled with fizzy water. I turned on the macro setting then just pointed my camera in the glass and hey-presto a really cool shot! I love these wine glasses so I am really pleased I found a great way to photograph one!
This photo is beautiful. I feel cold just looking at it though even though it's not obvious ice and snow. I love the colour and the prefectly captured droplet of water.
There has been so much snow here this week and I am rather frustrated as I haven't been able to take any good snow pictures. I hoped I would have been able to get a few but only a couple I have deemed good enough to even post on my Flickr photostream. I don't think the snow is going anywhere fast though so there is still time to capture an image that I am proud of.
