'jogging' by DM 909

There are two things I've always wanted to be able to do. The first one is drawing. I love being creative. I would love to be able to sit and sketch something or design things or just do clever little doodles. It's all up there in my head, I just can't get in down on paper as I would like to. That's why I like photography so much. I can make pretty pictures without having to pick up a pencil or paintbrush.

And secondly I would love to be able to run. I would love to be able to put on my trainers and just run my stresses away. But I am rubbish. Just a few minutes and I am all out of breath. I think I am relatively healthy and can walk for miles and miles but running I always find difficult.

Anyway the whole point to this is that today I signed up for the 'Race For Life' and I definitely want to run it and not walk it. This scares me some what but I am also excited about taking on this challenge.

This photo seemed particularly apt tonight. These trainers are hiding in the dark just as mine are currently. I love the black and white. It makes the whole thing seem rather dramatic which is how I have been today - a bit of a drama queen going on about how I am no good at running and this might be the end of me! Wish me luck!

  1. I can only say one thing ... I started with running after almost 40 years of not doing such a thing. 3km was always looking such a large distance ... but I managed it. Starting with walking, after that with running very slowly little parts ... so I was able after a year to run 15 km without any problems. So I think you can do it too. The biggest mistake everyone makes is to start too fast ... everyone wants to much too fast ... but it need much time :) And you need good shoes... don't start with cheap one. Buy really great one ... this will help you too :)

    Have a nice day

    1. Thank you for the advice. It's much appreciated. And I think I will invest in a new pair of trainers. Mine are still comfy but rather old so probably not giving particularly good support any more.
