'Brother and sister love' by Me
Couldn't resist a soppy one tonight as I've had a lovely day at home chilling with my little family in the sunshine. My husband, my daughter, my son - they all make me smile. Here is a photo of my kids having a cuddle. My daughter adores her little brother and has been so wonderful at helping look after him. I am sure they'll grow up to be best of friends and will always be there for each other.

'Strawberries and a little sunshine...' by nawalieex3
It was another scorcher of a day today. It looks like summer has definitely arrived. We spent the afternoon in the garden with friends and of course we had a barbecue. I wanted to show you a fabulous barbecue photo but while searching for one I stumbled across this wonderful strawberry photo. I think it's a lovely summery image. The strawberries look juicy and delicious and I love that summer sunlight which has been perfectly captured. We have strawberries sitting in the fridge right now, I may just have to go and get myself a bowl.

'Tulips' by Hannah Klosowska
I am featuring this lovely tulip photo tonight as I'm unable to show you my own. I bought tulips for myself the other day and hoped I might photograph them - like I always do when I get flowers. Unfortunately I must have bought a bad bunch as they never reached their full potential and didn't end up being very photogenic. Perhaps, I should have seen that as a challenge but I thought it would be nicer to show you this great image. I love all the soft focus. I would say I love the colour but that's too obvious as tulips are beautiful whatever colour they come in. I do, however, like the angle this was taken at. It really shows off the flowers.

'Mugs at the Eden Project Cafe' by ZedBee | Zoë Power
Today should have been a perfect summer day. The sun was shining and it was warm outside. When I went to the shops to buy lovely summery things like fruit and flowers I got stopped by lots of people - including the local vicar - to tell me how lovely my baby was. But I am feeling blue because my little boy is sick. Don't worry it's nothing serious. He's been checked by the doctor and it's just a common cold but I can't help feeling rubbish about it. I hate seeing him suffer when he's still so little. And I know it's irrational but I hate how I've not been able to protect and keep him safe from nasty germs.
Therefore I need a quick fix of a photo that made me smile today. This one is great. In my head I imagine it was taken at a cafe in New York. I don't know why. It was actually taken at a cafe at The Eden Project in Cornwall. I love the colours and the sparkle and whilst writing this I have actually smiled a little bit.

'Brighton Instagram' by Me
I said yesterday that I felt a family day out was in order this weekend so today we decided to head down to Brighton for the day. We decided on this mainly because our daughter has been asking to go to the aquarium for ages. She had a fantastic time looking at all the sea creatures. Our baby boy wasn't quite so impressed and slept the whole way round before waking up starving hungry.
Brighton is definitely one of my favourite places to photograph so I'm always stopping to snap away when I'm there. Today I thought I'd try something different and focused on taking pictures with my phone now I have one I can use Instagram on. Here's a little mosaic of today's photos. I am really pleased with how they turned out.

'Happiness is... (II)' by Fabiana Gauto Photography
So, what are you up to this weekend? Not sure what we're doing yet as it depends on the weather but I think some kind of family day out is in order. I had hoped that by the middle of May it would be picnic weather but that doesn't seem to be the case sadly.
I've chosen this photo today as I think relaxing on the beach would be a great way to spend the weekend. Also I really love this beach umbrella, it's so pretty. I also love how it matches the sky so well. The final thing to note is the people paddling in the sea. A really cute little detail that brings something special to the picture.
Happy weekend everyone!

'Cliff Top Beach Huts and Misty Contship' by Lizziefrog
I just had to share this picture with you tonight as I think it's rather amazing for many reasons. Firstly, it's a picture of beach huts so I'm definitely going to be drawn to it. It's fascinating though. Why are there beach huts perched on top of a cliff like this. Where is the actual beach? I also think the composition of this is really good. I love the beach huts on one side and the beautiful blue sea on the other. And I also want to mention the light as that's gorgeous too. What beautiful early morning sun. I could sit staring at this picture for ages but how amazing and peaceful would it be to see this scene for real.

'Teddy bear cuddles' by Me
Well that day has finally come. Tomorrow is D-Day. "D" as in "Daddy goes back to work". It's been brilliant that my husband has had so much paternity leave but it's also meant that I've got rather used to having him around and I'm now rather nervous about my first day alone with two children.
Although the past few weeks have had their ups and downs I can honestly say that I've never been happier. As I looked at my family whilst out having dinner at Wagamama this evening I realised I am living the dream - well my dream anyway. I have two amazing children and a totally awesome husband. What more could I possibly ask for - apart from a little more sleep perhaps?
I realise this post is rather soppy but I thought I'd better write this today as by tomorrow evening I'm not sure I'll still be describing my life as "living the dream"! Wish me luck!

'Untitled' by Heartbeatbox
Well the weather forecast was right and the sun shone lots this weekend. It was such a nice change to see blue skies as I was beginning to forget what they looked like. Let's hope the nice weather sticks around for a while. Dare I check the weather forecast for the coming week?
I am posting this photo today as I feel inspired by the lovely weather. I love the colours in this photo. The turquoise of the sky is just gorgeous and works so well with the yellow building (which I also think is rather cool - check out those patterns on the wall). I think this is a brilliant retro looking summer photo.

'Rainbow' by Me
We'll if the weather report is to be believed then the next few days are meant to be nice and sunny. I think I'll believe when I see it though. To be honest I don't really feel like taking many photos when the weather is so rubbish but I did take this one a few weeks ago that I'm really proud of. When I spotted this rainbow out of the window I was a good mummy and the first thing I did was show my daughter. I don't reckon she's seen many rainbows in her life and I always think they are so magical. This didn't last long though as I then had to go take photos. I think I took some with three different cameras! This shot was my favourite though as I think I managed to capture the light really well. I also like the fact that if you look closely you can see the actual raindrops falling from the sky.
Now that's enough of rain and rainbows. Come back sunshine, I miss you.

'29 May 2011' by yesesintonoesandnoesintoyeses
I was chatting with a friend today who's just got back from a holiday in Tenerife. It got me thinking about how much I could do with a holiday right now. The trouble is the kind of holiday I need would involve literally lounging by the pool and doing nothing. Not sure that would be realistic though with two children in tow. Seriously considering a holiday here in England at some point of the next few months though even if it's just a chilled out long weekend in cute cottage somewhere. Any suggestions welcome.
This photo definitely fits in with the holiday theme. It sounds a bit geeky but I rather like photos of planes - well arty images like this anyway. I was instantly drawn to this one. I think it is so simple but like with many minimalitic images so striking. It's got a really dreamy feel to it which is totally mesmerising.

'103/366 Beautiful, Blue, & Captured Just For You!' by Kris OnealPhotography
I'm still not finding a lot of time for blogging at the moment which sucks but when I think of the reason for my absence from my blog I don't feel too bad. I'm still loving being a busy mum of two.
Therefore to keep it short I thought tonight I would post a photo which I don't think needs a lot of explaining as to why I like it. Just look at these bright colours, they are just so striking. And when I saw this I just knew I would need to be blogging it at some point.
Right better rush, a small person is calling me. Enjoy the wonderful photo.

'A tiny little hand' by Me
Another baby picture from me I'm afraid as I've not really been taking much else to be honest. Perhaps I'll get the chance if it ever stops raining. I should make sure I take lots of pictures though as my little boy is growing so fast. I need to cherish every little moment. I can't believe he's ten days old already. He'll be celebrating his first birthday before we know it.
Happy weekend everyone. Here in the UK we're just about to have a long Bank Holiday weekend so it'd be nice if the sun came out at least once.

This is such a powerful and rather surreal image. I have previously mentioned my weird fascination with wind farms like this and I love how a little bit of red can make an otherwise colourfree picture look very striking. Therefore it was no wonder I was instantly drawn to this photograph. I feel like it should be telling a story but I have no idea what story might be. Do you have any thoughts on what on earth is going on here?
