Sometimes I go back through my old holiday photos to see what else there is as well as people posing in front of famous landmarks. And I wasn't surprised to find quite a few arty ones had sneaked in there. I took this one in Paris quite a few years ago now. I guess it's not unusual to want to take lots of pretty pictures in Paris though. I just think my husband should be very pleased we went there before my photography obsession started. If we went again it could be a very long trip!

'California / Los Angeles / .....' by Cuba Gallery
This is one of those photos I find strangly mesmerising. I don't know what it is about it. I definitely think ferris wheels make a great subject for a photo and I love the vintage tones but I think what I really love is the fact that it looks so high up. It doesn't look like there is a funfair or anything like that down below. Once you are up in one of those cars you'd feel free and happy. Well, what do you know, turns out I do know what I love about it!

'Birthday Streamers' by acreativemint
I hope your week is going well. And I'd like to apologise to anyone in the UK who's got rather rubbish weather at the moment. It's the worst kind of weather really because it's dull, and it looks like rain but it's really muggy and hot. Just rain already and let's get back to the summer sunshine. Anyway, I am apologising because it's probably my fault the sun went away as I bought new sunglasses at the weekend. I am now fully prepared to not to wear them for the rest of the summer. Last year I made the sun go away by buying a paddling pool!
So here is my sunshine filled apology. When I saw this photo it made me smile. You can't even see what this is or what it's facing but you just know it was a beautiful hot day with a cool breeze blowing, lots of people enjoying themselves and just generally being in a good mood.

'Eiffel Tilt-Shift II' by ArnarBi
I don't know if you've ever heard of a photographic effect called tilt-shift but I think it's awesome. Here's an amazing example of it. Basically it's a process that makes normal photos look like minature scale models. To be honest I don't know a lot about it but the effect can be achieved either by using a special lens or faking it with photo editing software. Either way it looks really cool! What do you think of it?

'@Home' by *Twinkel*
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. I had a busy one which included nights out, late nights, swimming, shopping and a funfair. As the last few days have been so busy I thought it would be nice to keep it chilled out with this lovely photo. It was the simplicity of this that caught my eye along with the fact that it just looks so bright and fresh. And of course the flip flops are pretty and I rather like the flooring as well!

'Nearly old enough for the carousel' by Me
I took my little girl to Brighton on Monday and we had a fantastic time together, especially playing on the beach. She loved the carousel and really wanted to go on the horses but unfortunately for her I decided she wasn't old enough. Anyway, it was just the two of us and I've no idea how I'd get on myself and get her on with me! And I bet there's an age restriction on it too. I promised her we'd go on it soon though!
I like this photo I took of her on the beach as she was watching it go round. The clouds were so interesting that day as I think you can see here. And I love that the carousel is blurred in the background so the picture is still all about her!

'bamboo hooks' by infusion fibers
I know this blog is meant to be all about the photos but I am actually after some advice tonight. Does anyone know how to crochet? I used to enjoy knitting and have heaps of wool around the house but have lost the motivation really as it's just so time consuming. I therefore thought I might give crochet a go. So, how easy is it to teach yourself crochet? Any tips would be greatly apprieciated as I have absolutely no idea where to start.
And don't worry I haven't forgotten about the photos! I obviously wanted to find a gorgeous crochet inspired photo to go with this post. I found so many lovely pictures of people's brightly coloured blankets, cushions, hats etc but this one really struck my eye as it was completely the opposite to all those pictures. I love the natural colours. And that selection of crochet hooks looks impressive. It looks looks like it was taken by someone who is fantastic at photography and rather a pro at crochet too!
