'Paris' by Alejandro Tejada

So did you have a good Easter? I can't believe the holidays are over and it was back to school today. We have had a great Easter. The best bit being our trip to Disneyland Paris which was just so magical. I am sure I will write a whole post about it soon but quite frankly I am not sure where to start with the whole fabulousness of our stay.

The first week of the Easter holidays when we were in France was rather cold and still wintery but on the second week spring arrived properly. This meant picnics, ice creams, a barbecue and Easter Egg hunting in the sunshine. Oh and there was also a small matter of my birthday. I turned 38 which makes me feel old but on the up-side I am still two years away from 40!!

I have decided to post a photo of Paris as I am craving a visit there right now. It might be called Disneyland Paris but we as you can imagine didn't actually see anything of the actual city. I have been there twice before and thought it was lovely but I want to go back with the sole purpose taking lots of photos. I love this photo as it shows just how big the Eiffel Tower is. It just looks so majestic standing there in the middle of all the buildings which seem tiny in comparison.

'Bord de Seine' by Nicolas.M Photographie

Bord de Seine, a photo by Nicolas.M Photographie on Flickr.

There's no reason to be posting this photo other than it's rather beautiful and I just wanted to share it with you. It's a wonderful example of night photography which I hope to be able to master one day. The lights are perfect. And of course it's of Paris which is a great place to get some lovely photos. I'm starting to wonder if there are actually any bad pictures which include the Eiffel Tower. I hope you enjoy looking at this photo as much as I do.

'Paris, je t'aime' by improduktywiontko

Paris, je t'aime, a photo by improduktywiontko on Flickr.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Mine was nice but a little bit unbalanced. Yesterday was super busy during the day and the evening but today we've hardly done a thing. A good job though really as I'm totally exhausted.

I hope you like the photo I've chosen to show you tonight as I think it's rather beautiful. The Eiffel Tower has been photographed so many times and always looks amazing. I was really interested to see an alternative take on an Eiffel Tower shot and pleased to see it still looks fantastic! I love the dramatic contrast of the black silhouette against the sky. And the design of the tower really is stunning. I wonder if it's possible to take a bad photo of this famous landmark.

'Tour Eiffel' by PumpkinRose

Tour Eiffel, originally uploaded by PumpkinRose.

I'm sure you'll agree that this photo really does look like a vintage postcard. The processing on this has been done so well. I think photos of Paris often do work best with a vintage feel to them. I have mentioned on here before that I'd love to visit Paris again. I'd really love a purely photographic weekend away! Although saying that I could probably find time to squeeze in a spot of shopping and some nice meals too.

If you could have a weekend away anywhere, with the sole purpose of taking photos, where would you go?

'Eiffel Tilt-Shift II' by ArnarBi

Eiffel Tilt-Shift II, originally uploaded by ArnarBi.

I don't know if you've ever heard of a photographic effect called tilt-shift but I think it's awesome. Here's an amazing example of it. Basically it's a process that makes normal photos look like minature scale models. To be honest I don't know a lot about it but the effect can be achieved either by using a special lens or faking it with photo editing software. Either way it looks really cool! What do you think of it?

'Landing in France.' by Chelsea (Disco Tetris)

Just a quick one from me tonight but just wanted to post this fabulous photo. I am still loving all things Parisian and it made me smile. I reckon this image would look fantastic blown up large as a poster or print on someone's wall. Perhaps my wall in fact!

'Paris...je t'aime' by ☂CharlotteSpeaks

Paris...je t'aime, originally uploaded by ☂CharlotteSpeaks.

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's weekend. I thought I would carry on the theme of romance with this gorgeous photo of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

I love the angle it was taken at and the tones used give this picture a really interesting feel. The tower looks so big and proud but at the same time soft and subtle. You can imagine two lovers at the top feeling like they are the only people in the whole of Paris.

You see I've gone and written my own story for a simple photo again. I guess a photo that can make you think like that has to be a fantastic one!
