'Good morning' by Me

Good morning by PhotoPuddle
Good morning, a photo by PhotoPuddle on Flickr.
Well the new year's resolutions are going well so far. I am very proud of myself for ignoring the big pile of Christmas chocolates that are still sitting around in the kitchen staring at me. Most importantly though I remembered to take more photographs. When I pulled the curtains back this morning the most beautiful sky greeted me so I had to take a quick snap. I love morning skies like this that look like they're on fire. I am particularly pleased with this as it was taken through the window as I didn't actually have time to open it. Perhaps my windows are cleaner than I thought they were.

'Bear Lake Sunrise' by Darrell Wyatt

This photo is so beautiful. The sunlight is just perfect. I love it when the sun bounces of snow like this. In the past I've tried to take pictures of light shining on the snow like this but can't say I've captured anything this stunning.

I hope you're all keeping warm because here in the UK the temperature is definitely dropping. I don't think we'll be getting any snow down here just yet - but those are famous last words are they!!

'January sunrise' by Me

January sunrise by PhotoPuddle

Apparently parts of the UK were able to witness the Northern Lights this week. How amazing. I would love to see them. No such luck here though as I'm too far south. It definitely is some on my things to do list though. In case you were wondering, I refuse to call it "to do before I die" or "bucket list". I think it's pretty obvious you want to do stuff before you die. No need to make your dreams and wishes sound all morbid. Anway, I digress... What I was actually leading to was a photo of another gorgeous light in the sky. I saw this beautiful sunrise the other day and had to try and capture it. I am pleased with the results. I think the silhouette of the tree makes it look even more stunning.

'oh what a beautiful morning' by pam ullman

Did you all have a lovely weekend? Ours was great. We caught up with friends yesterday which involved the best fry-up at their local cafe, followed by spending ages in the local playground. The men did the playing while us girls sat on a bench for a natter. And of course it meant I could watch my daughter playing with her daddy. I love that, just sitting and appreciating what a happy little girl she is. Then today was a bit of a relaxy day. We did a little bit of shopping but mostly spent time catching up with things round the house and doing a lot of crafts with the little one! I even had an afternoon nap. And I NEVER sleep during the day. Not that I haven't tried but my body just doesn't seem to want to switch off normally.

I chose this picture to share with you today as it seemed like a perfect relaxed Sunday image. It was taken just after sunrise apparently. What a beautiful start to the day and perfectly captured by the photographer.

'beach huts' by Hamish1979

I generally like to blog something different each day but today I'm afraid I'm going to show you another Southwold photo because it's rather lovely. I love the beautiful light as the sunrises. It shines on these stunning beach huts as they are all lined up ready for a day of action by the seaside. They do kind of look like they are lined up ready for battle - except of course there can't be much of battle needed to chill out in a beach hut by the sea.

Happy weekend one and all. I hope it's a beautiful one.

'Through the window on the Pier' by Andy Farrer

I think this photo is fantastic! The composition of this is great and would make a lovely photo with any kind of sky behind it but wow.... look at THAT sky! What a beautiful colour and managing to capture the sun in that perfect position must have taken dedication. Totally worth it though. Now, I think I might just sit here and look at this picture a while longer.
