Today should have been a perfect summer day. The sun was shining and it was warm outside. When I went to the shops to buy lovely summery things like fruit and flowers I got stopped by lots of people - including the local vicar - to tell me how lovely my baby was. But I am feeling blue because my little boy is sick. Don't worry it's nothing serious. He's been checked by the doctor and it's just a common cold but I can't help feeling rubbish about it. I hate seeing him suffer when he's still so little. And I know it's irrational but I hate how I've not been able to protect and keep him safe from nasty germs.

Therefore I need a quick fix of a photo that made me smile today. This one is great. In my head I imagine it was taken at a cafe in New York. I don't know why. It was actually taken at a cafe at The Eden Project in Cornwall. I love the colours and the sparkle and whilst writing this I have actually smiled a little bit.

This photos is entitled 'Crocuses are everywhere' and you know what they really are. Everywhere I look I seem to see them so it's lucky they are so pretty. And of course it means spring really is here! I photographed some myself this weekend but I much prefer this image. The way the photographer has used focus really makes it look like they are jumping out the pictures - very 3D.

I hope you had a lovely weekend. Mine has been lovely and it isn't really over either as hubby has a few days off work this week so we'll be enjoying some extra family time this week which is always special. I'm sure we'll end up going out and about in the sunshine (fingers crossed) and I'll be taking lots of photos!

Well it's still all snowy outside. I did think it was starting to melt earlier today but then it snowed again this evening. Ah well, at least it means I have a great excuse for another snowy picture. This one is beautiful. It's also another one which I think would have made a great picture even without the snow as the line of trees is just fantastic. However, contrast of the bright snow against the branches just finishes this off perfectly. This is the kind of photo that helps me to think about how pretty the snow can be and not how much inconvenience it causes.

Today has been a very soggy day. It's been a fun day in general but I could have done with not coming home looking like a drowned rat. I guess that's autumn for you. Rain, rain and more rain that makes you so look forward to getting home and putting warm, dry clothes on and snuggling up with a large mug of hot chocolate in front of the telly.

I was hoping to post a picture of roaring fires, snuggly blankets and hot drinks etc but then I spotted this one and thought yes, now that IS cosy!! I love these colours and I love the way the scarves match the bed but most of all I just love it because it's cute, cute, cute! Right, I'm off for a cuddle and a hot chocolate.
