'High Tops' by Carmine Sirianni

High Tops
Photo credit: Carmine Sirianni on Flickr

Life is a bit "Stop the world I want to get off" at the moment. Time seems to be flying by and so much seems to be going on. But in another way time is going so slowly. I hate the cold and it feels like spring is still months away. And whilst there are lots of things going on they're things that are making me stressed. There doesn't seem to be time for fun things. It just seems to be one thing after another to worry about. Some of it real stuff and some of it things that I'm just making up in my head to worry about. I wish I could remember what being happy and carefree felt like!

So what picture should I post here? I think I will go with this one of some Converse as I love these shoes and I love this picture. Such a simple shot really but I think what makes it specially is the colour tones and I also love the messed up laces. I have actually lost count of all the Convserse shoes I have. I think it might be nine pairs. I had better get them all out soon for a little Converse photoshoot of my own!

'Too many?' by Me

Too many? by PhotoPuddle
Too many?, a photo by PhotoPuddle on Flickr.
Well I seem to have completely recovered from the unsociable mood I was in and this week has been manic. But that's the way I like things. I like to be busy. I did find time to take some photos though. I wanted to take a few snaps of my ever growing Converse collection. I have called this 'Too many?' which was a daft question really as of course it's not too many. I need more!

My awesome hubby bought me new Converse today to cheer me up as I've not had a great week. Job done, a new pair of Chucks is an instant mood lifter! I really need to get a photo of all my Converse trainers as I am sure it'd actually make for a rather cool image. I think the last time I did a group shot there were five pairs and I have seven pairs now! And before you ask, yes I do actually wear all of them regularly. You can tell by how bashed up they're all starting to look.

This fantastic photograph has help me make a decision. I am so buying my son a pair of red ones when he's able to walk! I'm not sure I actually fancy red for myself but they look so cool on kids!

Hope you all had a great weekend and have a fab week ahead to look forward to.

It's great having a little girl who loves shoes and shoe shopping as much as I do! Today whilst in M&S my daughter spotted a pair of pink sparkly shoes both she and I fell in love with. This prompted me to take her to get a her feet measured to ensure we bought the right size. By the end of the afternoon she was a shoe size bigger and the proud own of two new pairs of shoes. It was a lovely girly shopping trip.

I'm posting this picture as I bet it'll make loads of you say "awwww". What a cute little kitten and the expression that's been captured is brilliant. I am also very excited by the shoes. Not seen that colour combination before. They're definitely getting added to my Converse wish list. Oh and one last thing - matching nail polish - like that lots too!

'You can never have too many' by Me

My Converse habit seems to have got rather out of hand as I now own five pairs. They are rather cool though and I do wear them all. I think because I'm pregnant and missed out on wearing all the fabulous sparkly skyscraper heels that were about this Christmas I am filling the void another way. At least Converse are practical and do get worn practically every day.

Converse shoes also make a great subject for photos. I've seen so many lovely photos by other people and I love taking pictures of mine too. This one shows my whole collection. It was fun trying to find different ways to arrange them. Oh and in case you were wondering, I think I've got my sights on a navy blue pair next!

'"Cinderella is proof that a new pair of shoes can change your life." ~unknown~' by IslandPhotoBug~Cori

I've been having a good old clear out recently and I must admit it feels rather good. I've had so much stuff to sort through. That included my shoes and I even - shock horror - got rid of a few pairs. Now, whilst doing this clear out I realised that I no longer own a fabulous pair of red shoes. Criminal! Everyone should own a fabulous pair of red shoes. I used to have some red boots that I loved but they broke and I did have some great red party shoes but I must have put them away damp or something as when I opened the box they kind of looked a little mouldy. I do have quite a nice pair of red flats but they hardly count as fabulous.

I think I need to purchase myself a pair of shoes a little bit like the ones in this photo. I think this is a great picture. Not only are the shoes wonderful and very striking but I love how this is composed. The shoes standing on some very plain work office type boxes make are a great contrast. To me it conjours up an image of someone at work in a very sensible black suit but making a statement by wear these bright red shoes with it. Fabulous!!

'My first shoes' by Bozowizard

My first shoes by Bozowizard
My first shoes, a photo by Bozowizard on Flickr.

Although I really do love digital photography Polaroid and other instant cameras have always fascinated me. Earlier this year I got my hands on a secondhand Polaroid 600 camera but was really disappointed with the results. Reluctant to spend a fortune on the Impossible Project film for it I decided that the next time I tried instant photography it would be with a modern camera. I now own such camera as my dearest husband bought me a Polaroid 300 for Christmas. I'm so excited about getting started with it but I am also so wary of wasting photos as with just 10 exposures per film you can't just snap away like with a digital camera.

I will of course let you know how I get on with my camera in due course but for the time being I'll just show you a few instant pictures I love by other photographers. I think this one is so cute. What adorable little shoes. A perfect subject for a photo. What I really love though is the gorgeous sunlight. It just goes to show that a beautiful day can be captured on any type of camera.

'Chucks - Grösse 26' by pixel boogie

I know I've recently posted a picture of my new Converse trainers but I couldn't resist posting this one as it's really pretty. I love the colours. I'm not after a pink pair for myself but I can see my daughter being treated to a pair at some point! After all a girl can never have too many shoes. Even if she is still only two years old!

I also love this photo as it reminds me that it doesn't matter if my Converse get messed up a little. They're never going to stay perfect and the lived in look is actually rather cool. I love how this photographer has captured all the little details of this particular pair. Lovely photo for lots of different reason.

'Converse All Star' by Me

Converse All Star by PhotoPuddle
Converse All Star, a photo by PhotoPuddle on Flickr.

As I mentioned in a previous post I treated myself to a new pair of Converse the other day. That now takes me up to three pairs - purple, grey and now turquoise. I think I'd still love a green pair but the turquoise are just as cool for now. Yesterday, I did a bit of a photo session with the new shoes. I couldn't decide which picture to show you so here are my two favourites!

To all of you who've just had a long Bank Holiday weekend I hope you've had a lovely time. And to everyone else, I hope your week has started with a fantastic Monday!

'Love my converse' by Me

Love my converse by PhotoPuddle
Love my converse, a photo by PhotoPuddle on Flickr.

Have I shown you my new Converse trainers yet? No? Well here they are - aren't they pretty. It's Pinterest's fault. I pinned a pair of grey ones and loved them so much I decided to get a pair. Then whilst shoe shopping I saw these grey ones with the pink trim and fell in love. The rest, as they say, is history...

I took this photo a couple days ago whilst at a playground with my daughter. I was sitting on the ground watching her and also looking at my pretty shoes.

I'm a bit of a Converse addict now. Next pair? I'm thinking green!

'Retro Vintage Girl in Grass With Purple Shoes' by Pink Sherbet Photography

It really, really, really, really was spring today! As I looked at the beautiful sunny day out of the window this morning I felt just so uplifted and well.... springy! However, not wanting to be tricked by the sunshine into think it was warm outside when I went out I put on my scarf and my winter coat. Five minutes down the road though I regretted that, I was baking so the coat and scarf came off and were stuffed under the pushchair! Hooray, it's still February and was out today without a coat. I am now choosing to ignore the rainy weather forecast for the next few days.

I think this photo is fantastic and perhaps a little spring like too. I love purple so I couldn't resist these pretty ribbon laces. And I love the other colours and tones in this photo too. That green grass look so lush and lovely. Now roll on spring for real!

'New shoes' by Me

New shoes, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

I mentioned in a post last week that I'd got a new camera for Christmas that I was waiting to try out and yesterday I got the chance to take a few fun shots with it. Here is one of the pictures I took. These are my new purple Converse shoes which I also got for Christmas. The reflection was achieved by putting them on a shiny box that some perfume came in. I think I was actually rather spoiled this Christmas! So, what do you think? Nice camera? I hope I'm able to get some great photos with it.

'red.' by hello gaby

Firstly, thank you all so very much for your lovely encouraging comments on my last post. Obviously when I posted that picture I did hope someone might say something nice but I was really overwhelmed by all your kind words. You've definitely given me something to think about now.

Secondly, I also mentioned in that post that I'd be sharing another lovely picture with you yesterday. Unfortunately I got back far too late from a great night out drinking Pimms with friends to post anything. I'm sure you'll understand!

And thirdly, isn't this photo great? I'm sharing it with you tonight as I think it's a fantastic Saturday night image. The colours are just so bold and striking and you've just got to love bright red shoes! I also love what this photo seems to symbolise. I sense the anticipation. Looking out over the city wondering what the night has in store and what fun is going to be had in these shoes. I bet it was a great night out!

'Pink heels and lots of sparkle ~' by ~A.n.a~

Pink heels and lots of sparkle ~, originally uploaded by ~A.n.a~.

I love this photo and I love the shoes. In fact I really want a pair just like these even though I have no idea when I'd wear them. I so miss wearing my high heels but being a stay-at-home mum and running around after a speedy toddler all day rather lends itself better to a pair of trainers or flip flops.

The photo is fantastic because it's a really interesting angle. I really love the sparkle and the dreamy tone it has as well. If this was used as an advert for these shoes then I am sure they'd sell incredibly well.

'Wanna be...' by | Krysia |

Wanna be..., originally uploaded by | Krysia |.

I love this photo! I love the soft colours, I love the composition and I think it's technically great. But what I love about it most of all is that I see my future in it. Or rather my 19 month old daughter's future. I am constantly being amazed at how grown up she's getting. Just like the girl in this photo she loves to wear my shoes. I'll be in the living room and I'll wonder where she is. The next thing I know she'll come wandering in wearing a pair of my shoes which she's found in the hallway. I know it won't be long before she's insisting on trying on the big heels like the girl in the photo!

She also made me so proud this weekend with her dancing skills. I already knew she was very good at doing the actions to 'Dingle Dangle Scarecrow', 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, 'If your happy and you know it' and other such songs but yesterday she really showed off! We were at a wedding and they had a fantastic band playing and she actually dragged ME to the dancefloor!!! It's usually me that tries to get people up to dance. Her usual bedtime came and went but she didn't run out of energy. She was strutting her stuff like she'd been clubbing for years!

I could go on and on about how fantastic I think she is but instead I'll sit back and let you appreciate this fabulous photo instead.

'42 and DEFINITELY...' by leslie sophia lindell

You know the phrase 'Dance like no one is watching'? Well this is what this photo says to me. It looks like the owner of these feet is have a fantastic time. The light on the floor makes me think it's day time which makes the dancing look even more carefree.

Of course the colours are great too. The turquoise and red are a really vibrant combination. And everyone needs to own at least one pair of red shoes!
