'Story fairy' by Me

Story fairy by PhotoPuddle
Story fairy, a photo by PhotoPuddle on Flickr.
Books have always been an important thing in this house. I've always loved them and now my daughter does too. She has loads and I love buying them for her. We always go to the library every three weeks and we have our favourites we borrow time and time again. In fact there have been times we've loved a library book so much I've just had to buy it. My daughter loves reading books as much as she loves hearing them read to her. She is always reading books to her baby brother and to be honest he is totally mesmerised by her. Of course she's not actually reading the words, after all she's only three. But that's my next challenge. I really want her to be able to read a little bit by the time she starts big school next September. She's doing well with her words and letters so far so fingers crossed.

I love this picture of my daughter. You can't tell because he's not in the shot but my little boy was actually lying on the floor next to her listening to the story. I also can't help but smile at the fact that she's dressed up as a fairy princess. So pretty.

'adventure' by sasha

I find this photo beautiful and intriguing. I am so curious to know what the dress looks like as I bet it's stunning. And the smile on the girl really draws you in. What kind of smile is it? What's she thinking about? It's hard to tell for sure when we can't see her eyes. I bet the photographer could have taken an equally fantastic photo of the girl that revealed these things but I think what has been done here is just really creative and special.

'Wanna be...' by | Krysia |

Wanna be..., originally uploaded by | Krysia |.

I love this photo! I love the soft colours, I love the composition and I think it's technically great. But what I love about it most of all is that I see my future in it. Or rather my 19 month old daughter's future. I am constantly being amazed at how grown up she's getting. Just like the girl in this photo she loves to wear my shoes. I'll be in the living room and I'll wonder where she is. The next thing I know she'll come wandering in wearing a pair of my shoes which she's found in the hallway. I know it won't be long before she's insisting on trying on the big heels like the girl in the photo!

She also made me so proud this weekend with her dancing skills. I already knew she was very good at doing the actions to 'Dingle Dangle Scarecrow', 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, 'If your happy and you know it' and other such songs but yesterday she really showed off! We were at a wedding and they had a fantastic band playing and she actually dragged ME to the dancefloor!!! It's usually me that tries to get people up to dance. Her usual bedtime came and went but she didn't run out of energy. She was strutting her stuff like she'd been clubbing for years!

I could go on and on about how fantastic I think she is but instead I'll sit back and let you appreciate this fabulous photo instead.

'{The call of the running tide}' by Doreen Kilfeather

I am featuring this photo simply because it's so dreamy and lovely. I love photos with these vintage tones. The shot is so natural and the girl looks like she's having a great day at the beach. You can tell by the reflection in the water that the sky is blue and her dress says it's lovely hot day. Another reason to say "Roll on summer".
