'A cold and frosty morning' by Me

A cold and frosty morning

I took this photo of the car this morning. It's a shame it's not perfectly in focus but I really wanted to capture those beautiful snowflake shapes of ice. It's been so cold this week but it's not snowed here. Not a single flake. I think it might actually be, as the saying goes, too cold to snow. I'm not that bothered by the lack of snow as after the initial excitement has warn off it's just a right pain in the bum. But I would love to see what my two year old makes of it. It has snowed in his lifetime but he would have been too tiny to remember it now. I think he would love it!

Wishing you a warm and happy weekend.

'Winter in Amsterdam I' by Marc Rauw.

I've been feeling a little uninspired blogwise for the past couple of days and really thought I'd have nothing to show you today. Luckily though I stumbled across this great photo which made me stop and look twice. Now all the snow and ice has gone here I feel I can look at icy scenes like this again with rose tinted glasses. Doesn't it just look so romantic and lovely skating along a frozen canal in Amsterdam? I love how the photographer has captured so many different types of people. I love how sharp the photo is too and I also love the colour and tone. Hope you like this too.

'Iceberg bay' by Bogdan Ionescu

This photograph was taken in Antarctica. What an amazing place to look at. It looks so surreal, almost like a different planet. Lots of people like to think they are well travelled these days but the must be just a relative handful of who get to see scenery like this.

I like this particular photo as the shape of the ice is really interesting. I like how it can be so smooth and rough at the same time. And the colour here is great too. I love how the sky is almost pink. This is a beautiful photo but I bet it's a thousand times more spectacular in real life.

'stourhead ice 3' by tamsyng

stourhead ice 3, originally uploaded by tamsyng.

If you are not feeling cold already then this photo is sure to make you shiver. I think this is a lovely photo. The composition is just right and I bet this would have made a beautiful photo even if it had been taken on a hot and sunny day. This is great though because the photographer has managed to capture every bit of the coldness. In fact I'm off to get my hat and scarf right now.
