'Paris' by Alejandro Tejada

Paris
Photo credit: Alejandro Tejada on Flickr

So did you have a good Easter? I can't believe the holidays are over and it was back to school today. We have had a great Easter. The best bit being our trip to Disneyland Paris which was just so magical. I am sure I will write a whole post about it soon but quite frankly I am not sure where to start with the whole fabulousness of our stay.

The first week of the Easter holidays when we were in France was rather cold and still wintery but on the second week spring arrived properly. This meant picnics, ice creams, a barbecue and Easter Egg hunting in the sunshine. Oh and there was also a small matter of my birthday. I turned 38 which makes me feel old but on the up-side I am still two years away from 40!!

I have decided to post a photo of Paris as I am craving a visit there right now. It might be called Disneyland Paris but we as you can imagine didn't actually see anything of the actual city. I have been there twice before and thought it was lovely but I want to go back with the sole purpose taking lots of photos. I love this photo as it shows just how big the Eiffel Tower is. It just looks so majestic standing there in the middle of all the buildings which seem tiny in comparison.

'Untitled' by Eiimeon

I instantly loved this photo when I saw it because of the obvious things like colour, composition and the fact that it's of Paris. But it also made me smile for another reason. It made me all nostalgic for the time I lived in Toronto. The biggest landmark in Toronto is the CN Tower which can be seen for miles around and we were lucky enough to have a view of this tower from our apartment window. I say we had a view but it wasn't quite a view as such. Basically if you opened the window and stuck your head out far enough you could see the top of the tower. That to me counted as a view though and felt very lucky to have it!

There's no reason to be posting this photo other than it's rather beautiful and I just wanted to share it with you. It's a wonderful example of night photography which I hope to be able to master one day. The lights are perfect. And of course it's of Paris which is a great place to get some lovely photos. I'm starting to wonder if there are actually any bad pictures which include the Eiffel Tower. I hope you enjoy looking at this photo as much as I do.

'Back For the Future' by David Briard

Back For the Future by David Briard
Back For the Future, a photo by David Briard on Flickr.

So many stunning photos of Paris have been taken and I could probably fill a whole blog with them. I can bet, however, that probably 90 per cent of them will be of the Eiffel Tower as it's just such an amazing sight. Usually these photos of the Eiffel Tower project a pretty and romantic image but I love this Paris photo because it's so different. It still makes the place look amazing but for a different reason. It doesn't say romance it says modern and urban. When I first saw this it reminded me of the Docklands area of London. It's fantastic to see a photo like this which shows a different side to the city.

'French Shutters' by baby, picture this

French Shutters, originally uploaded by baby, picture this.

It is still August isn't it? I haven't majorly overslept and it's now November? I ask because I'm wondering where the summer has gone. It's all miserable outside. I'm sure it didn't used to be cold and wet in August. Or maybe I am just deleting the rain from my memory right now. It feels like summer's nearly gone and autumn is on it's way.

Although..... looking back we have had a pretty long and rather fantastic summer! And it really isn't over yet. There's still about three weeks left of August and then September is often a lovely warm month - especially when August has been a bit soggy. And anyway, who cares about the rain - it's not really that cold and there's still plenty to do. After all today we went swimming so spent a lot of time rather wet anyway!

Ooops, I got so caught up chatting about the weather (can you tell I'm British?) I nearly posted this without actually talking about this lovely summery photo I wanted to show you. Now if this doesn't remind you of hot weather and summer holidays I don't know what will. And I can't help but wish my house had gorgeous windows like these! I love the soft colours, I love the flowers but most of all I love the shadows as you just know that window has a beautiful view.

'Windows in Paris' by Me

Windows in Paris, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

Sometimes I go back through my old holiday photos to see what else there is as well as people posing in front of famous landmarks. And I wasn't surprised to find quite a few arty ones had sneaked in there. I took this one in Paris quite a few years ago now. I guess it's not unusual to want to take lots of pretty pictures in Paris though. I just think my husband should be very pleased we went there before my photography obsession started. If we went again it could be a very long trip!

'Landing in France.' by Chelsea (Disco Tetris)

Just a quick one from me tonight but just wanted to post this fabulous photo. I am still loving all things Parisian and it made me smile. I reckon this image would look fantastic blown up large as a poster or print on someone's wall. Perhaps my wall in fact!

'Paris Metro' by Me

Paris Metro, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

Due to lack of opportunities for nice photo sessions at the moment I have been digging around in my files and playing around with some old shots. I found a load of interesting photos I took in Paris a few years ago. Here is one of the Metro that has already had lots of positive feedback on Flickr since putting it up this afternoon. I hope you like it too.

'Paris...je t'aime' by ☂CharlotteSpeaks

Paris...je t'aime, originally uploaded by ☂CharlotteSpeaks.

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's weekend. I thought I would carry on the theme of romance with this gorgeous photo of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

I love the angle it was taken at and the tones used give this picture a really interesting feel. The tower looks so big and proud but at the same time soft and subtle. You can imagine two lovers at the top feeling like they are the only people in the whole of Paris.

You see I've gone and written my own story for a simple photo again. I guess a photo that can make you think like that has to be a fantastic one!
