A couple of weeks ago I posted a fantastic photo of vintage Ladybird books. This inspired me to point my camera at my daughter's very own collection of rather more modern Ladybird titles. This was my favourite of the the pictures I took. I think because of the angle and also the bright colours. I do wonder whether someone will stumble across this photo in say 20 years time and think "Wow, I remember those book from my childhood!" and feel all nostalgic. As I mentioned before I'll definitely be keeping a few of these aside for my daughter to have back when she's all grown up.

'Fading Skies' by j.wilsonphoto
I am posting this one tonight simply because it's gorgeous. I love a sunset like this, I just wish I had more opportunities to watch them. But this will do for now as it almost does make me feel like I am sitting there on the rocks at the end of a beautiful day.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend. For me yesterday wasn't so exciting but I had a lovely day seeing family today and I am now enjoying a glass of red wine and a gingerbread man! A rather lovely way to spend a Sunday evening!

'beach hut' by Donnah Whittaker
Yes I know, more beach huts..... but how could I resist this lovely photo. These pastel colours are just so pretty and don't they like just look so excellently cared for. The best bit of course is the old man sitting in front of one of them. He cycled there just to sit at his beach hut on what looks like a not that warm day. That's just so 'British' and I love it! I hope he was having a relaxing time.
And of course as it's Friday I'm going to wish you all a wonderful weekend! Hope it's filled with lots of fun things and hopefully a little bit of sunshine!

'Retro Vintage Girl in Grass With Purple Shoes' by Pink Sherbet Photography
It really, really, really, really was spring today! As I looked at the beautiful sunny day out of the window this morning I felt just so uplifted and well.... springy! However, not wanting to be tricked by the sunshine into think it was warm outside when I went out I put on my scarf and my winter coat. Five minutes down the road though I regretted that, I was baking so the coat and scarf came off and were stuffed under the pushchair! Hooray, it's still February and was out today without a coat. I am now choosing to ignore the rainy weather forecast for the next few days.
I think this photo is fantastic and perhaps a little spring like too. I love purple so I couldn't resist these pretty ribbon laces. And I love the other colours and tones in this photo too. That green grass look so lush and lovely. Now roll on spring for real!

'Colourful thread' by Me
I think I'm such a wannabe when it comes to all things crafty. I used to make jewellery and have a huge stash of beads and jewellery making bits and bobs. But then I had a baby and tiny little beads didn't seem a sensible thing to have lying around the house. I also like to knit or at least I used to. Once again I have a huge stash of wool which I keep telling myself I'll use one day. I've always fancied learning crochet and tried to teach myself last year. Sadly I failed miserably. I also have an assortment of other crafting bit and pieces such as felt, thread and ribbons (yes, I even have a ribbon box) but what will become of these things? Well they do make fantastic subjects for photos. I wonder if this thread will become anything exciting one day!

'Bridge' by enfi
I went to New York over a decade ago now and totally loved it. I'd wanted to go for ages and had built it up in my head to be a totally awesome place. I was therefore rather worried that it wouldn't live up to my expectations but luckily it did and it was such a fantastic place to visit. We only went for three nights which meant only two full days there. This was nowhere near enough time to explore all the things we wanted to although we did cram a lot into those two days. The hightlights for me include a trip up to the top of the World Trade Centre (I feel honoured), being in The Disney Store on 5th Avenue when it started to snow (it was so magical) and being unable to locate the Empire State Building (we were standing with a map looking lost when we decided to look upwards and ooops there it was!).
I could ramble on couldn't I about New York but I'd better show you a photo. Sadly I can't show you any I took as mine were all taken with film. I should scan them in one day. But I'm sure you won't be disappointed with this one I've chosen. Isn't this just an amazing angle to have taken a photo at? I also love how well the photographer has captured the evening light. Fantastic work!

'Taking it all in' by Me
I've just been looking through the archives and there are actually loads of my own photos I'd like to post here but just haven't yet. I shall therefore try and post a few more of my own in the coming weeks. I always mean to but there are just so many fantastic photos out there that I feel you really need to see!
I took this one in Hove back in October. I really looks like it's posed doesn't it but I can honestly say it wasn't. My daugher really does not pose for photos - which can be annoying! Nope we just got to the beach that day and she just stood there taking it all in. See, even toddlers can be amazed by the beauty of the sea.
