It's funny what you can consider beautiful. I wouldn't have thought washing hanging up to dry outside a graffiti covered building would be the prettiest of subjects for a photo but I think this is gorgeous. The pastel colours are lovely and the light is stunning. Why doesn't my laundry ever look this pretty?

'Hanging Laundry 01 (Ardennes)' by niekbokkers

I hope you've all had a wonderful Easter weekend. I did even though I am now fit to burst with chocolate and barbecue food - but it was very much worth it! We've been so lucky with the weather too, it's seriously felt like a long week in summer.

I love this photo because of the beautiful light. It looks like the sun was setting on after a lovely sunny day. I've realised I'm becoming a bit of fan of washing line photos. It's brilliant how something so totally mundane can become a fabulous work of art.

'Clothes peg' by Matt Gypps

Clothes peg, originally uploaded by Matt Gypps.

Today was such a beautiful day. Seriously, it could have been July out there and not the beginning of April. I hope this nice weather sticks around at least for a little while as it has been such a mood lifter. The hot and sunny weather also meant I could hang my washing on the washing line and it would actually get dry!

That leads me on to this rather lovely photo. It is such a simple idea but just so well done. In fact I am not entirely sure what it is about this picture that I love. Probably just how bright and crisp it is. I've tried the pegs on the washing line shot before but it's never turned out anywhere near as amazing as this. Who'd have though pegs could be so beautiful?

'Our family genes' by Wunderlusting

Our family genes, originally uploaded by Wunderlusting.

I love this. It's such a simple image but I really feel it's a photo bursting with love. And it's also annoying because it gave me one of those "Why didn't I think of that" moments! I guess I wouldn't have been able to take a photo like this anyway. It wouldn't be the same on my rather ordinary rotary washing line. I like the fact that this looks like it's the highest washing line in the world.
