'Poolside' by dphock

Poolside, a photo by dphock on Flickr.
Well today was indeed a very hot and sunny one. The day started with a trip to the swimming pool as we decided we should take our son swimming for the first time. He definitely seemed to enjoy himself and he wasn't at all phased by the water or by people jumping in near us and splashing us. After that it was picnic time in the park which, surprise surprise, ended up with us eating 99 ice creams.

This post really needed a swimming pool photo to accompany it and I love this one. I love how it makes me feel really hot and I totally love the colours. What fascinates me most though is how exactly the shot was taken from that angle. Apparently it was shot from a hotel room. I imagine this is a picture that was flipped upside for effect but I still don't get how such an awesome angle was achieved.

Anyway, I hope you are enjoying the weekend and have lovely sunshine where you are too.

'LEGO Olympics 2012 Team GB syncro team' by Bricks for Brains

I have been up in London all day today so sadly didn't get to watch any of the Olympics. I'm making up for it now by watching a bit of diving. It was interesting being in London today though. I predicted chaos but the capital does appear to be really well organised.

I promised if I mention the Olympics again I would feature a suitably sporty photograph. I love this one. I think it's really fun and clever. What impresses me most is the colour of the swimming pool. It really does look like it's actually under water.

Hope you all have a fun weekend!

'Balletic' by Mizzzzzz S

Today we took our little girl swimming as it had been far too long since we’d last been. She was actually a bit nervous at first but then she reverted back to being our beautiful waterbaby. I can’t believe how confident she is in the water. In fact she's far more confident than me as I’m not really great with water at all. I love going swimming but I'm really not a fan of going out of my depth or going under water.

Therefore tonight’s photo is a photo I am sure never to recreate myself. This just looks so graceful - if it were me I'd be kicking around like crazy trying to get back to the top. The little line of bubbles is a great capture but what is even better is the reflection on the surface of the water. Fantastic underwater photo.

This one kind of follows on from yesterday. After a relaxing day by the pool what better way to end the day than a sunset swim with friends. The people in this photo look like they're having a great time. The photographer has managed the capture the playfulness brilliantly even though you can only really see sillouettes. It's another photo that makes me wish I was there right now!
