'I am wishing' by malinamelone
Do you know what I hate about the rain? Being stuck in a downpour when out with the pushair and no way of carrying an umbrella at the same time. And then having to stay stuck in the wet clothes for hours afterwards. Do you know what I love about the rain? Lying in bed listening to the rain hammering it down outside while I'm all tucked up warm and cosy.
What do you think when you see rain forecast?

'Rainbow Guard' by linh.ngan
I thought this photo was great as it is a powerful photo which provokes mixed emotions. Is it a happy picture or a sad one? Positive or negative? Is obviously raining as there's a rainbow but could that be a bit of sunshine breaking though. Gorgeous light whatever though. Very well captured rainbow.
And for the record I'm not sad - just in need a of a bit of a breather. I think we all feel like that every now and again.

'wet silhouettes' by .•˙ TIM ˙•.
I love puddle pictures like this though. This one is so well observed. I wonder who that man in the photo is. And I love how the reflection in the puddle is so clear. You'd think it would be all murky but it's just as sharp as it would have been if it was a direct shot.
Fingers crossed there won't be many opportunities for puddle pictures round here for a while. I need sunshine!

'Rainbow' by Me
Now that's enough of rain and rainbows. Come back sunshine, I miss you.

'Night rain' by Tay-FUN
Another weather related post tonight I'm afraid as it rained a lot today. Seems like we're experiencing spring weather again just this time it's the wet kind. I wish I could say it was as breathtaking as this but it was just cold and miserable. I think this photo is stunning though. I love the lighting and the rain has been captured perfectly. I wonder how long the photographer stayed in here before going out to face the rain.

'Bangkok in a rainy day HDR' by fturoy
Well it rained lots today. I don't mind too much though. In general this autumn has been rather lovely weatherwise. It's been quite warm and dry really. I love that I haven't had any expectations for the weather when it come to autumn. I'll wear a jacket for example and be really pleased when it gets too warm and I have to take it off.
This is a fantastic rainy day photo. I love how the rain just looks relentless and so heavy but people are just carrying on as normal. I don't know much about the weather in Bangkok but I am presuming it was hot too when this was taken. The rain has been captured so well and I almost feel I should be putting my umbrella up. Great photo.

'At least she was dry' by Me
Well today was mostly sunny except for one rain shower. Unfortunately we happened to be out when that shower turned up. We didn't have our coats but luckily I had my umbrella in my bag. I didn't actually get to be under it much but, oh well, at least one of us stayed dry! She looked so cute carrying my umbrella that I had to take some photos. I really like this one. Now every time I moan about the rain I'll look at this picture and smile!

'Puddle Jumper' by joeltelling
It was another rainy day today. My daughter didn't mind though as she tends to get all excited when she sees puddles - I blame Peppa Pig! Anyway, puddles outside mean a great excuse to show you a photo that made me smile today! I love this because you can tell this little girl has so much detemination to get a good splash. It's such a high jump and such a little puddle but the photographer has really captured the force of the jump. I also love it because it's exactly how my little girl acts in puddles. Actually she loves jumping even when there aren't puddles around. I see a fantastic olympic long jumping future ahead of her!

'Soft, Spring Rain' by Darrell Wyatt
Do you ever find yourself smiling so much your cheeks hurt? Well I was a bit like that today. It was beautiful weather today and my daughter and I joined some friends for a picnic in the park. It was just so nice sitting in the sunshine, chatting with my mates and watching my girl and her little friends playing together so nicely. I realised at one point I was was grinning like the Cheshire Cat!
The colours make this such a bright and happy picture. It makes you want to sit outside in the sunshine. However, you will notice that the photo is called 'Soft, Sping Rain' and you can see perfectly captured raindrops falling from the sky. If only all rainy days could be as pretty as this!

'diamonds' by Bator Horvath
Wow, it's the first day of March and as far as I'm concerned that means it's spring! I know there are official dates for the beginning of each season but for me winter is just December, January and February. I can't put up with it for longer than that.
I could have posted a lovely spring picture of daffodils or such like but here is a more realistic spring picture! It may be a shot of the rain but I think it's beautiful. The way the photographer has captured each rain drop is brilliant but what I love most is the colour. I just love that deep turquoise colour!
Happy March everyone!

'that pink feeling' by tonbel
I'm feeling a bit run down tonight for one reason or another and the miserable weather really doesn't lift the mood. I was going to post a sunny, tropical beach photo to cheer myself up and give me something to daydream of but then I saw this. It may be a rainy day photo but it really made me smile. Children are so wonderful aren't they? They are so care free and every day is just a big adventure. And I've yet to see a child not enjoy playing in the rain. In fact when I was young and it was tipping it down with rain I used to beg my mum to let me go play outside. Therefore, if it's raining tomorrow you know what I'm going to do. I'm going to get my daughter and I dressed up in our raincoats and boots and go splashing in puddles! I think she'd rather like it, and so might I.

'Gold Rush in the Rain' by alex saberi
Isn't this just a really cool rainy day photo? You can tell instantly that this is London. The detail in this reflection is really amazing. And don't laugh but I actually turned my laptop upside-down to have a look at how the puddle would have looked on the ground. It was still a great image and been very well observed by the photographer.

'Barbecue in the rain' by Me
I'm getting a little bored of the rain now. It's been really heavy today. I just hope it rains so much tonight it can't rain any more tomorrow. But then again we have a bank holiday weekend coming up here in the UK, and we all know that usually means rain! Although it never usually stops the Brits enjoying themselves.
This weekend we went to see friends who were on holiday at a campsite. The plan was to end the day with a barbecue but unfortunately by then it was pouring with rain. Well did that stop us? Of course not we cracked on and had a fantastic barbecue. Well I say 'we' but really it was the men that braved the rain. The women and children were rather more sensible and stayed in the caravan! Here is a photo of the fellas cooking meat in the rain!

'Light Rain' by petecarr
Well summer has definitely gone AWOL. Today it just rained and rained but you know what... it was a good day. We went out in the morning and got a bit soggy but once we got home we had an arts and crafts afternoon. We did lots of cutting, sticking, painting, colouring and generally making a mess! I have realised that sunshine and hot weather may be gone for a while but never mind, it'll be back. And rain is only water and the temperature is hardly arctic. Let's go outside and splash in puddles!
That's why I picked this fabulous photo. These girls are totally unprepared for the rain but they don't seem to mind! The mood of this image is great and I love how bright it is even thought it's a night-time shot. It really is a positive and happy rainy day photo!

'Reflecting but not pondering...' by clay.wells
Where has the summer gone? Why all this rain? Fingers crossed the sun will be back again soon! In fact it was a little sunny in places today so I think it's just hiding. But a bit of rain doesn't have to mean photography has to stop. In fact incredible shots can come from something as simple as a puddle. Take for example this photo of an amazing relfection. I love the dark blue sky as it looks like the rain has passed and it's actually turned out to be a lovely summer's evening.
So if you see a weird woman walking along looking at the ground over the next few days then that's probably me! I shall be looking for perfect photo opportunities in the puddles.
By the way, it didn't come to me until I starting writing this post but... Photo.... Puddle.... PhotoPuddle! Ha ha, it was meant to be!
