'Leather and Feather' by L.Moffett

I've got about a month to go until my baby is due. At this point in my first pregnancy I went on maternity leave from my job. To be honest just walking any distance was so difficult by that stage I think it would have been impossible to carry on much longer. I therefore spent my last few weeks of pregnancy sitting on the sofa watching TV and eating. Anyway, now my job is stay-at-home mum I'm wondering what the deal is with my maternity leave this time. How should I approach my daughter and tell her that she'll have to be making her own meals from now on and that'll she'll have to be making her own way to pre-school? Hee hee, good job I'm joking, I don't think that would go down too well! Actually, if I'm being honest I think the fact that I've had to spend this pregnancy running around after her has kept me much more mobile and in general I've suffered less with everything. The morning sickness even stopped at 30 weeks which after last time was so fabulous.

And here is a photo which has nothing to do with pregnancy and babies or even to do with the weather. I just wanted to show it to you because it's rather delicate and beautiful. I love peacock feathers and don't think I've seen a photo of one quite like this. Look at how all the little details are perfectly captured. Lovely work.

'Saturday Evening' by Laura Travels

Saturday Evening by Laura Travels
Saturday Evening, a photo by Laura Travels on Flickr.

I seriously need to chill out. Over the past few days I have found myself getting more and more stressed out by things. I think I as I get closer to my due date I'm just finding all sorts of things to worry about. It doesn't help when you have hormones flying around all over the place that stop you dealing with things as well as you might do normally.

Anyway, I think you can guess why I've chosen this beautiful photo to share with you tonight. I think I could quite easily relax a little bit here. What an absolutely gorgeous sunset. The light is wonderful. I love the colour of the sky and how it makes the sand look rather blue.

And to be totally random... I've just remembered I took photos of some lovely daffodils today. Perhaps sorting through some of them would be rather relaxing!

'Bump' by Me

Bump by PhotoPuddle

I never feature pictures of myself on here (apart from a couple of photos of my feet I believe) but after thinking hard about it I decided that perhaps I should share a picture of my pregnant belly, after all it's such a big part of my life right now. Motherhood also has such a huge influence on my blog and on my photography so it feels right to share this side of it as well as numerous photos of the back of my daughter's head! Little bit nervous about it but here it is - here is me and my 33 week pregnant belly. The more I look at it the more I think it's actually a rather cute little bump. I just can't believe it's making me feel so heavy and achy. Oh well, not long to go now!

'...& her heart fluttered like a thousand butterflies...' by jewelflyt

I thought I'd give you a quick pregnancy update today seeing as I have now reached the third trimester. I am feeling pretty good at the moment. Tired and achy but I guess that's to be expected however good or bad the pregnancy. To be honest I just feel really, really huge even though I don't look it. I do wonder if the little one is getting a little uncomfy in there already. I'm still being sick when I get up in the morning but haven't got the constant nausea I had with my daughter - thank goodness. In fact so far this pregnancy has been easier than the first time around and here's hoping there aren't any nasty surprises waiting round the corner in trimester three. Now all I have to do is focus on trying to make sure the birth is so much better than last time as well! Easier said than done eh!

Here's a picture which has nothing whatsoever to do with pregnancy, I just think it's so delicate and beautiful. It's really all about the little details such as the texture of the wings or what the butterfly's legs are doing. The soft colours are also so subtle and gorgeous.

Happy weekend to all you lovely people.

'Balloons' by Me

Balloons by PhotoPuddle
Balloons, a photo by PhotoPuddle on Flickr.

It’s been a while since I announced I was pregnant so I thought it was time for a little update on how things are going. I’m nearly 16 weeks now and still have morning sickness but it’s not too bad. In fact I’d say it was just getting tedious. But that’s a good thing. My morning sickness when pregnant with my daughter was soul destroying and miserable for the whole nine months.

And excitingly I finally have a little bit of a bump. Although to be honest nobody’s really going to notice because it’s nearly winter and I’m wearing coats and big jumpers at the moment. It’s rather annoying actually because most of my maternity clothes from first time round are quite redundant. I lost a little bit of weight recently so the trousers I wore before are all too big for me now. The tops fit fine but because I was pregnant in the summer before I just have lots of little t-shirts which aren’t going to be much use over the next few months. I guess perhaps it’s an excuse to go shopping. Don’t want to spend a fortune on maternity clothes but I have bought some lovely pairs of jeans which are so comfy. As I live in jeans these days I thought a few comfy pairs were an absolute must.

And talking of shopping I don’t think we’ve done any whatsoever for the baby yet. We’ve realised that we pretty much have everything we need already except for a buggy. We need a new one of those as our original one got broken. No idea where to start though as I’m really looking for the perfect one.

Anyway, I could go on but I am sure you’re keen to see a photo of some kind. Well here’s one I took of some of the balloons we’ve had kicking around the house lately. We’ve got so many left over from birthday celebrations and from Halloween. Seems a shame to pop them and I don’t think my daughter would be impressed. I think we may have to discretely let a few go soon though!
