This summer we went on holiday to Cornwall. It was our second holiday there and I loved it just as much as I did when went last year. In fact I think I fell in love with it even more. I hope we can manage another break away down there next year. It's hard to explain why exactly but the place has really captured my heart. It's still in England but feel like a million miles away. It's just so beautiful and I love the relaxed atmosphere. As you can imagine I took one or two photos so I had better start sharing them here. Here is Porthminster Beach at St Ives. It is such a lovely sandy beach I could stay there all day. Sigh... Cornwall I miss you...

After writing yesterday's post I realised I'd given myself the kick up the bum I needed to try and achieve some goals. I am therefore very excited to have finally set the wheels in the motion for selling some of my work. It's going to take a while to set up I think but I'll let you know more about it soon.

But that's enough about me. Here's a fabulous photo by someone else. This one really makes me think of exotic holidays. I think it's amazing that the photographer managed to capture the pool looking so calm and still. Usually there's someone or indeed something in there disturbing the water but this looks just perfect.I also really love the light, it definitely captures that silence that you get first thing in the morning. I want to go on holiday now!!

How is it Sunday night already? I've had a lovely weekend. The weather was gorgeous and we had friends to stay. When they left this afternoon we didn't want the weekend to end so ever the spontaneous family we jumped in the car and headed off out. We went to a pub in a place called Peacehaven where we had ice cream in the beer garden overlooking the sea. Went for a wander over the cliffs too. Photos to be uploaded and will follow soon.

Tonight's photo makes me feel all nostalgic for summer holiday's abroad. It really has that feeling about it - you know when you head out for the evening, it's still pretty hot and you stroll up and down the restaurant areas looking for somewhere nice to have dinner. I'm also so impressed at places where you order a beer and it comes in the appropriate glass! I have been known to choose a drink based on the coolness of the glass.

Anyway, I hope you've had a lovely weekend too and this fabulous photo has helped you capture the holiday feeling like it did for me.

You see this photo proves the point I made yesterday - there are just so many fantastic summer photos out there! The one yesterday was a real perfect summer in the garden photo where as this one is the ultimate holiday image! It looks like such a hot and sunny day at the beach. I want to run onto that sea myself right now.

Oh and I also think this would make a fantastic album cover. Not sure exactly what the music would be on it but it would have to be something chilled out and happy.

Love this photo. As well as being really artistic and well composed, it totally makes me think I'm on holiday. I bet when this photo was taken most of the holidaymakers were still sleeping off the night before. The cat does seem to have the right idea though. I wonder if he's saving the other sun loungers for the rest of his cat family! If so he wants to get some towels on them quick sharpish!

Well this picture is another one that has got my imagination running wild. I'd therefore say that makes it a very good photo.

When I look at this photo I can almost feel the warm sun on my face. I love the light and tone. It's also a fairly timeless shot that will remind you of summer holidays past and present, at home and abroad. Fantastic image of summer.

It's cold and it's miserable. Why is it still winter? I need something to warm me up. Yep, this ought to do the trick! Ahhh, wouldn't it be great to be there right now with a cold drink in your hand and not a care in the world.

Sigh..... Anyway, back to reality.

I have never visited Hawaii but I've always fancied going there. This photo sums up how beautiful I imagine it is. I would love the be there right now away from the cold weather. In fact it doesn't have to be Hawaii it could be anywhere hot with sun, sea and sand..... Sigh....

What makes this photo so much more than just a holiday snapshot is the composition and the colour. The shades of blue are just stunning. I think the way the horizon is in the middle of the shot is great and I love the shape of the sea crawling up the beach.
