'Spring is here' by Me

Spring is here

Well hello March. After what felt like the longest January known to man I can't believe how quickly February flew by. Due to our recent home improvement work the month was mainly spent painting and decorating and assembling flat pack furniture. But the house is starting to look really fantastic. We all have new bedrooms now and it feels like a fresh start for our house. And I am hoping that spring isn't far away - spring is the season of fresh starts and positivity I reckon. The sun is shining right now so here's hoping it sticks around for a while, makes us smile and warms us up a little.

I bought these daffodils a few days ago and yesterday they were ready to be photographed. I love spring flowers. And I love how you can pick up a bunch of daffodils for £1 and instantly bring a little bit of sunshine into your home. I might have to brighten up the house with some tulips soon too.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend and I hope spring is starting to appear wherever you are. (Unless you are reading from the other side of the world of course. Then I hope you have been having a brilliant summer.)

'Daffodil season' by Me

Daffodil season, a photo by PhotoPuddle on Flickr.

As I mentioned in yesterday's blog post I took some pictures of daffodils which I was looking forward to sorting through. I ended up being rather pleased with them and this one is my favourite. In fact looking at it now I realise that I like it even more than I did last night. Daffodils really are the most perfect spring flower aren't they? So bright and happy - truely a sunshine flower.

'daffodils in a enamel kettle' by air-kiss

daffodils in a enamel kettle, originally uploaded by air-kiss.

It was such beautiful spring day today. In fact at some points it even felt like summer. Little one and I spent the afternoon at a fantastic park that's fairly near us and had a fabulous time together. I had hoped to get some lovely daffodil photos as they were everywhere but unfortunately this wasn't going to be possible. There's no way of hiding behind a camera, crouching down and taking photos of flowers whilst at the same time stopping your two year old from running off! Never mind there are a lot of daffodils around at the moment, I'm sure I'll get the opportunity soon!

So as I didn't get many daffodil photos taken myself here is a beautiful one by someone else that I think you might like. I love the soft colours and I think the composition is great. I like the way that the daffodils are displayed in lots of different ways. But best of all I just think it's really pretty.

'Joy and Jubilee' by Great Danes

As I type this it's so very nearly the weekend. I hope you've got lots of lovely things planned. In fact I hope your weekend is as happy and carefree as this photo is. Doesn't it just make you smile? Those daffodils are gorgeous and would have made a good picture on their own but the addition of the person twirling around is fabulous. And it goes without saying that red was definitely the best colour for the woman's top. A splash of red can really make a photo extra striking.

'Daffodils' by Me

Daffodils, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

Happy Easter!! I hope you've been having a wonderful day and have been able to spend it with the people you love.

I thought I'd post a picture I took of spring flowers. I like it because I think the black background makes it looks rather dramatic. Most spring flower photos I've seen use much brighter colours.

I was also rather impatient taking this photo. I knew if I waited another day all the flowers would be open but the light was right and I really wanted to put some daffodil shots on flickr. I think it worked well though as the one full open flower in the front looks rather effective.

'Daffodils!' by super ninon

More spring flowers! What a fantastic way of displaying a bunch of daffodils. I may just have to try this myself... if I can find enough vases in my house! As well as the pretty flower arrangement I love this photo because it has captured such a relaxed and chilled out atmosphere. You've just got to love spring.
