'Swansea Marina' by Me

Swansea Marina by PhotoPuddle
Swansea Marina, a photo by PhotoPuddle on Flickr.

I wanted to post this photo by me tonight as I'm really pleased I managed to capture a perfect night scene without being blurry. You really need a tripod for a shot like this but as I didn't have one with me a big random shaped stone thing (i'm not sure what it was) had to do.

I also love this photo as it was taken at the end of a wonderful day out in Wales. We were only a away a few days but it felt like we'd been gone for a fortnight. I must admit I do like having lots of short trips away during the year rather than one great long holiday. I'm now wondering where our next adventure will be.

'Chains' by Me

Chains, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

I wanted to share one of my own photos with you today but was having trouble choosing between a blossom one or a beach one. So I decided on neither and went for this one. We were sitting on the beach when I spotted a lots of boats stacked up. Camera in hand I went off for a look. The bottom of this boat really caught my eye and just asked to be photographed. I love all the different textures. Especially the peeling paint as this boat appears to have been a number of different colours in it's lifetime.

Don't worry blossom and beach lovers - those photos will no doubt follow shortly!

'Boats on the beach' by Me

Boats on the beach, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

As promised, here is another photo from my trip to Herne Bay on a rather cold day. You can tell from this picture that it was very cloudy but I hope I have captured the essense of British beach in winter. As I was walking up to the beach I spotted these boats straight away and knew they'd make a great shot. The way they were lay on the ground made it look like they had been left there especially for me to photograph them. I think this picture works and I have captured them from the best angle. I'm now in the mood for some more beach photography, although a bit of sunshine would be nice next time.

'Boat trip' by Me

Boat trip, originally uploaded by PhotoPuddle.

As part of my daughter's birthday celebrations we had a short break away in Poole. We were lucky enough with the weather that we managed a trip over to Brownsea Island which was fantastic. If you've never been then it's definitely worth a visit if you get the opportunity. On the way back the ferry took us on a cruise round the islands of Poole Harbour. It was rather fascinating actually. I took lots of photos of my daughter enjoying her first ferry ride (or rather her second ferry ride as we'd already got the ferry there!) and lots of photos of the islands. The one I want to show you though is one I took whilst simply pointing my camera up to the sky. I am really pleased with how it came out. I love how you can see the wind in the flags and I love how the sky is so blue. Makes it look like it could be a summer day and not the middle of autumn. I also took some lovely pictures of autumn leaves which I'll share with you in another post!

'Pink Dawn' by MazzaPix

Pink Dawn, originally uploaded by MazzaPix.

After yesterday's dramatic fire picture I thought I would calm things down a little with this amazingly tranquil photo. It really is stunning. I imagine that looking at this when you are stressed out would make you feel a just that little bit more peaceful inside. And just think what it would be like waking up to this view every morning. What a great start to the day - although perhaps I'd end up being so chilled out and wouldn't get anything done.
