'North Greenwich Towers' by Kevin_Mitchell

North Greenwich Towers by Kevin_Mitchell
North Greenwich Towers, a photo by Kevin_Mitchell on Flickr.

I find this photo fascinating because it reminds me how much development has happened in the Docklands area of London over the past decade or so. I remember a time when there was only one tower at Canary Wharf and it really stood out on the London Skyline.

I think this photograph is very dramatic. Just look at that amazing sky. It really is on fire! But that's not my favourite thing about this image. I love how tiny the apartment buildings look in front of the tall skyscrapers. They look like tiny toy houses. Such a mesmerising picture.

'London building tops' by trexcali

London building tops, originally uploaded by trexcali.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday, I know I certainly did. We had a barbecue and Easter Egg hunt with good friends. I also went all competitive and proud mummy when my daughter managed to single handedly collect the most eggs!! She's got a great future ahead of her that girl!

This photo has absolutely nothing to do with Easter - I just saw it and thought it was rather amazing. I am always trying to spot things out of aeroplane windows and this would be one view that would be easily recognisable. For those of you who don't recognise it, this is Canary Wharf and some of the other buildings in the Docklands area of London. Fantastic capture!

'0015 Canary Wharf' by andy linden

0015 Canary Wharf, originally uploaded by andy linden.

I have been doing this blog for nearly four months now and can't believe I haven't yet featured a photo of London. It's a fantastic city and there are so many great photos I could post here. This one is great because Canary Wharf is a fabulous landmark. What makes this stand out though is the chimney in the foreground that shows it was taken in just an ordinary residential street. If I had a view like this from one of my windows I wouldn't be able to help being just a little bit excited. I will post some more awesome London photos soon.
