'Barcelona' by Me

Here is a quick flashback to our holiday in Barcelona last year. We were only there a day before the unfortunate splitting my head open incident but in that short space of time I had already taken loads of photos. There was so much to take pictures of I wish we'd got to see more. I think windows like this make a great subject for a photo. They are really pretty to look at and also get you wondering what is going on behind each one. Or perhaps that's just me because I'm a nosey old thing.

Our trip to Barcelona in March may have literally ended in tears but I have found myself really, really missing the city. I so want to go back and finish the holiday properly. I don't know what it was about the place but I really fell for it. In fact when we got there one of the first things I said to my husband about it was how it didn't feel all scary and foreign like some places do when you first arrive. But I think what sold it to me was simply how lovely everyone was there. We didn't speak Spanish or Catalan and there wasn't a huge amount of English spoken but when I had my accident everyone was just so nice and reassuring.

And of course there are so many photos in Barcelona which I just didn't take. Here is one I did take though. I've got a thing about taking pictures of windows at the moment that are interesting or really pretty. I though this was a really interesting window picture. I really like all the red curtains and of course being nosy on people's balconies.

Fingers crossed I make it back there one day!

This is another photo from my trip to Barcelona. This is a scene that just shouted at me to take a photo. I love all the repetition of the arches. I've seen photos of these kind of repetitive shapes before and always thought they were great. My favourite bit of this is probably the random table and chairs. I am not sure why there was just one table. Perhaps the owner doesn't usually get much business! Anyway, it meant a fantastic photo opportunity for me. Hope you like it too!

I've always like to keep my blog happy and lighthearted but today I feel the need to pour my heart out a little so I hope you'll bear with me because I'm feeling a little fragile right now. Basically we've been on holiday in Barcelona this week but on the second day I managed to crack my head open on a little shop door (long story). The blood rather freaked me out and I did a lot of screaming. Anyway, I ended up being taken to hospital in an ambulance where they stitched me up. They said I will be fine and I don't appear to have an side effects yet but it's shaken me up so much. I just wish I could stop crying randomly.

Anyway, this won't stop be posting a fantastic photo. This is of the Temple of la Sagrada Família in Barcelona. It makes me feel very guilty as my husband really wanted to see it but we never made it there because of me. This photo is so dramatic and cool, I really wish I had seen it with my own eyes. Next time eh? I hope we do return one day as it's a great city and the people there are so nice.
